If the Apollo bid was fake, they would not have felt the need to issue a statement on the 12th May 2023.

Interesting article in The Times about Glanbia being a stock tip.

It mentions their new change of leadership and how the new boss has led Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN) to be the best performing division. However it also mentions Clearwater Capital, an activist investor, encouraging Glanbia to spin-off GPN. It says that changes to its US JV commercial agreements this year may simplify the process.

Possibility of a Glanbia GPN / THG Nutrition collaboration?

I too feel that Mark Kleinman will be the one to break any THG news, but I'm leaning towards it being via his CityAM column…but I guess that depends on timing.

I can’t remember City Spy posting anything that has proved to be accurate…unless I’ve missed something…

Thanks OSG. It feels like some of your recent investment decisions will afford you a good Christmas, so enjoy, you deserve it.

Admittedly, I couldn’t see the Kelso logic to begin with, but I have learned not to let my judgement be clouded by past negative events.

Let’s hope that after all of our patience here, we finally get some clarity and progress in 2024, that supports those of us who have been pro MM/THG, even through the darkest of times.

Still holding firm, so see you all in the new year, unless we get positive news before.

My holdings list, which may need updating, says West Coast Capital have 2.03% and Ophurst VMKV have 1.93%

From memory, I don’t think anyone else made a public declaration…but I could be wrong.

If part of West Coast Capital results, did Hunter make a public declaration of faith in every investment founders/CEOs they have interests in or just Moulding? Did he choose to call out Moulding or was he asked about it? Doesn’t really matter to me, but I am interested in whether any other backers do the same thing….Sir Terry Leahy, Tim Bunting, Brian Kennedy, Mark Evans etc etc, as part of corporate results or not.

From memory, Sir Tom Hunter has made this declaration before…when things were tough….so the question to ask is why aren’t any other loyal followers sticking there head above the parapet?

Thinking about Sarah Rajani being ex Elliott Advisors, I’ve just been reading about another share and this came up:

“City sources said this weekend that Sparta - which was launched in 2021 by Franck Tuil, a longstanding executive at the prominent investor Elliott Management”.

Coincidence?

There’s a person on the ‘other’ board, called Havinthelasttoast, who claims he knows what’s going on…..but then so do lots of other people. Anyway, 5 days ago he posted this:

“ Kelso already has a +5 holder in the bag so he has made my point hahahah. I know exactly who it is and us more significant holders have also pledged our shares to Kelso in any action. They currently have circa 10 percent that I know of from the horses mouth. You think the price is moving for nothing ? Yes trading has been good but THG is moving for other reasons.”

If MM knows he has the backing to take this private, why would he feel threatened?

I have no clue what’s going on, but if I had to bet either way, I feel like the institutions that support Matt, are here for the long term and therefore are happy to wait for a return, when the time is right. It feels like Kelso are pressuring change before it is necessary and Matt is defending against this. I’m probably wildly wrong, but no one but Matt (and allies) knows.
