There has been a few chunky buys this morning. I think people will have been waiting for confirmation that THG met all the requirements to transfer category before buying. After all, if people distrust MM as much as some say on here, they would be doubtful that the transfer would happen.

The RNS doesn’t appear on the THG website, but maybe it’s because it’s not issued by THG.

Maybe THG will issue confirmation of moving category at some stage, possibly with other news, as they have done before.

I get that that’s the theory, but he has a number of ways of raising that figure, so if he was indeed putting all his eggs in the Ingenuity basket, he didn’t need to sell a key property in the Ingenuity story in my opinion.

SE115, why do you think he will go to Ingenuity and leave the rest behind? What role will he play in Ingenuity and if that’s his plan for world domination, why did he sell the flagship site that houses Ingenuity?

Really, the man that hates travelling and enjoys his routine and being close to/at home. I think there’s some wishful thinking here….

I don’t believe that Matt will resign, because I don’t believe that he will give the City the satisfaction of thinking they were right.

I do believe that a deal of some kind is more likely. His lower holding may well suit him, especially if there is a deal such as the 49% Selkirk theoretical bid, as it may enable those loyal IIs and large holders that want to role, to stay invested with him, such as Sofina, Kennedy etc.

Surely if MM was going to leave, he would have taken a staring role on the board of Ingenuity……

For anyone interested, I messaged HL yesterday to ask about whether our shares would be certificated or not and this is the relevant part of the reply I’ve received this morning:

“We can confirm this stock has been received through CREST and credited to shareholders' accounts yesterday.

The new Ingenuity stock received is called 'The Hut.com Limited'. Our team will be contacting shareholders to confirm those details shortly.”

Maybe he’ll ask for the million+ shares back that he gifted his mates 🤣

I don’t believe Matt is going to relinquish control of any part of THG personally, unless it’s to McDonald. But I also have faith in the most recent Director buys. Roll on the next chapter…

I too believe it’s Matt taking up the Ingenuity slack. We could always see an early trading update (we don’t always get much notice) so Matt can top up his RemainCo holding with the cash from the property sale and possibly selling down his Kelso holding….outside of the closed period…

I’m just going by what was said in the RNS Cong, as there’s been nothing to say to the contrary….yet:

“The provision of a minimum of 20 business days' notice (which period commenced by way of today's announcement) is required to effect the Transfer. No shareholder approval is required in connection with the Transfer. It is anticipated that the Transfer will take effect at 8.00 a.m. on 6 January 2025. The Transfer is conditional on the approval of the FCA.”

I have absolutely no idea what the ‘green boxes’ are saying on here….but if anyone thinks Matt or the BOD are going anywhere, then they are deluded. If you don’t like it, sell.

The demerger is the first step to realising value. Listing change on Monday will hopefully start to change things, so I expect today/tomorrow to be rocky. But, Matt still holds sufficient shares in RemainCo to be influential in what happens next, so he won’t be going anywhere. The question is what will be next. He wouldn’t have demerged/delisted Ingenuity if he was going to do the same to the rest. We just need to be patient.
