Fair point well made cooking I agree , I’m a big fan of this share as you know but I’ve made a serious amount of money over last 10 years on it , sometimes it’s best to cash out while ahead . But if you have 5 years or more then yes, it would recover any dip we see , even a large seismic one

Well - i think it’s fair to say that was a very good four months - from 8.50 four months ago to touching 12.50 today !! I sold everything ! I got very lucky. ! I still think this can get to 14 euro , but i also think warren buffet should never be ignored . A dark day is coming to US stocks and will reverbirate el;see where - i am happy to take the profits for now - enjoy the ride guys

Cheers Cooking ! I won’t lie I’ve decided to take a bit of profit at 11 ! I’ve sold about 30% of what I bought in October kept 70% ! It’s getting interesting , I think 14 is achieveable but I’m not going to be the one left holding the baby of Trump keeps messing up the world order . I do think Europe is capable of playing him offside which could really benefit European shares , they are historically very cheap for USA investors that are nervous !! Enjoy the next couple of months , if we follow ban I Santander we will be licking our lips

At 28cents being paid in May as a final dividend and a buyback of 590 million , that’s a total return of about 10% to shareholders ! Is that correct ?

The share will probably pull back as with all pre announcement exuberance like today , but it will likely not go below 10 again until after ex div date . There’s going to be a 60 cent delivery in May . Hard to believe all the excitement about Kingspan today with only 600 million in profit and a market cap of 14billion ! That would make our modest back worth a hell of a lot more ! BIRG will not have profits below 1 billion for next decade ! It’s still a great share . Enjoy the weekend

Thanks Sticky that is a good read ! I am even more optimistic that the courts will leave it to an individual basis which will be good for BIRG and hopefully release even more capital for buy backs or divs - looks like 10 is likely today

Well between the ombudsman in the UK resigning, (under pressure not to force the issue on car finance ) , a deal to agree pay with staff and other European banks announcing record profits , today feels like a good news day !! And the sun is shining

And I meant to say I’m going all in on Santander too ! I’m going to buy in big in the morning ( a little late after the 8% jump ) but with those distributions it’s a no brainer

These are exceptional times in banking in Europe . 12 billion in annual profits and only valued at 80 Billion !! Incredible ! They intend to distribute 10Billion on top of the dividend by way of by back . It values them similar to BOI at 7:1 PE but I expect BIRG to post 2.4 Billion so the real time PE will be lower than 5:1 ! At a 7:1 low PE the share price will be over 11 euro

As a mortgage provider BIRG is well set to profit from it

Well I didn’t expect trump to commit economic suicide , so yes the share will drop today, but if this increases inflation ( highly likely ) then eurozone interests rates are staying higher for longer ! There is no bad news related to owning this share

Well radar its a well known saying that the early riser catches the worm and I up early daily and shaping my day with a good coffee . It would be a good time to exit if you were a short term investor and bought in without considering the options to make more money. I see from your history you sold out at this level some time ago. I was walking around Dublin last night ( I don’t always go to bed early ) and the town was hopping !! The economy is on fire and all the restaurants were full. With st Brigid weekend coming and then quickly st Patrick’s this economy is still firing. I’m staying in and expecting a really great dividend to be announced in just over 20 days now. I really think 10.60 is on the cards next month and then you might see me consider down sizing my holdings but not exiting - with interest rates coming down there is no where else to put the money ! Now I’m off to bed so I can get up early
