When will the price be finalised ? After the 3rd quarter results ?

I think they are mistaken . They had previously indicated it would come back social dividend . I do have a question as to how DCC seem to be valued at a PE ratio of 17-20 That seems to be stated in quite a few normally decent. Places . But turning a profit of 600 million and a market cap of only 4 billion is a less than 10 ratio in my book ! Anybody add any clarity for me

Thought id pop in and say hello . See what ye have been up to ! Looks like I left a bit on the table selling it and moving on to others ! It’s still looking like a rock solid year for BIRG and although no record profits with savers saving more the profits will continue to be robust - and the dividends. I still favour FBD for the consistency of the dividend but hard to beat a good bank - just wish the Europeans would allow a large euro bank swallow it whole ! Hope all are enjoying the summer

I’ve been trying to find out the effect of the 30m euro hit of storm Éowyn on this years profits ( likely not announced until next year but some extra guidance likely in august. If 2024 was a reasonably good 75 million and they set aside maybe a net 30 M do we still expect another special dividend this year ? Or is it more prudent to wait til next year and raise the 1 euro dividend if no further extreme events - id love to see the 1 euro annual dividend go to 1.30- 1.50 rather than 2 distributions - Anybody think the same ?

The trading update is good , progress still on the sale so still looking forward to a nice special dividend of £6 later in the year . I am excited now to see where the business can go with a more singular focus on energy and energy transition. Would have probably preferred to use the 600 million to buy a solar company/fund like next solar but i think the balance sheet will give them lots of scope to borrow for those kind of deals. Does anybody have any information on what business the energy business have purchased - it mentions they have made some acquisitions but I can’t find anything - thanks

Fair point Saravima , but I’m happy for them not to sell out at 10 to 12% dividends . Can’t get that even if there was a quick hit so I’m happy to stay well invested . I really love this share and it has been so good to me these last two years .

That’s not necessarily true either . Look at FBD - the highest dividend payer the last 4 years and no real lift to its share price ! At 11% likely dividend it will outgun all but the best yet its share price is floating around at 13 this long time . it may finally break out soon as the move in interest rates gets people focused on real value. FBD , then BIRG still for me , pity i sold all the BIRG !

I like the way you are thinking senator - i really think a 6 euro special div would be a real boost to the share , it would indicate what they may do if they sell tech, and then as a single energy focused company they would be valued more in line with peers

Just to be clear , I’m thinking 800 million to distribute from the sale of healthcare , with 100 million shares in free float , seemed like a reasonable expectation

Hey Redmoor , sorry for delay i was away . Yep i was thinking instead of buybacks they would offer the £ 3 pound or 5 pound super dividend , but it looks unlikely now , pity they weren’t clearer as to what the intention was

Anybody thinking there could be a £3-£5 special dividend plus a £2 standard dividend ? I am feeling best use of the proceeds of healthcare funds rather than just paying down debt ! Any thoughts ?

Playing cards , 10 euro high for a bank making 1.8 billion ? Mmm 🤔 I think that’s value investing ! There is no chance BIRG will be below 1B euro in profits for next 5 years - on any metric that’s good value and at the buy back level it’s a great Irish opportunity when everywhere else looks so uncertain

Fair point stick but I’m happy to catch the knife on the way down too ! At 30% discount now to 52 week high and in reality nothing fundamentally has changed for this domestic focused bank ! Fee income and net interest margin will likely be as forecast ! With 5% buy back and 7% dividend a lot of reasons to step back in after selling at 12.25 only 6 weeks ago ! I’ll keep buying at every 5% drop from here or at below 9.25
