Alba has never ever done a placing at a premium. In fact Alba’s placings tend to be at a hefty discount to the current SP and if another one happens now ... we will all be screaming. Ms Henson hasn’t proved herself yet.

We need news to drive the SP up considerably higher before a placing occurs.

Elir, I agree with you in that there is no reason to exclude current shareholders in discounted placings - is only a bit of extra administration. All these flipping placings that we had in the past do big damage to the SP. So, if Ms Henson brings in PIs it will be a step up from where we currently are. Us participating in placings is something that we need to bring to the attention of the ALBA BOD.

Ocelot, thanks for the clarification. Getting a bit lost in all of this though, is Frazer Lang related to Forrest Nominees? Should we be expecting Forest Nominees to update the TR-1 after 9th April?

TullyCrow, If Ms Henson achieves that it will be transformational for Alba.

I have recently witnessed a stock (unfortunately I did not own it) which in January this year was at 0.2p and in February had 2 placings, one at 0.6p and the other at 1.0p, both taken up by individual investors. This stock in March this year reached a high of 4.50p and has now retraced back to just over 2.0p. All within Q1 this year.

It certainly helps when placings are taken up by investors instead of flippers. Fingers crossed Ms Henson will bring in PIs.

Already answered:

“To clarify – this is not new but was part of the placing announced in February. At the time there was insufficient headroom to the allot the shares hence this followed after the AGM. The amount is relatively modest – proceeds of £150k or less than c. 1.75% shares”

I take it that these were already taken up at 1.00p? If so, we should see a TR-1 on or after 9th April? Depends who got them I suppose.

As far as I know, anything that affects the SP (positively or negatively) has to be announced immediately, so they cannot be holding back results. IMO, they simply haven’t finished yet.

Why they haven’t finished yet is the real question. 36 tonnes of bulk samples going through the pilot plant at 1.5 tonnes per hour takes 24 hours to process ... yes 24 hours and they started 20 January ... over two months ago!

Well? Anybody else willing to ask this question (placing clarification) on the Angus Investor Questions board?

The more questions they get on this subject, the more of a chance of them responding.

Just posted this in the Investor Questions:

“15 Million shares + warrants placing announced today (RNS 1/4/2021):

Very confusing that the placing SP of 1.00p was not mentioned in the RNS.

Is there a reason for not mentioning the placing SP and the fact that it is at a hefty 33% premium to current SP?

Would you clarify please? Thank you.”

If others ask for clarification too, they might respond.

I think is deliberate as nobody has taken these up.

HITS, they omitted to mention the SP in the RNS, but the reference to the previous RNS makes this placing at 1.00p by default.

Why they omitted to mention the placing SP is beyond me because mentioning 1.00p and premium to current SP ... would definitely have helped the SP now.

Why didn’t they mention this? Deliberate? If so why?

This is good news for once.

The placing is at 33% premium to the current SP (i.e. 0.75p). The placing is at 1p.

Now, next milestone of interest is will we see an updated TR-1 on or after 9th April.

The point is can the market wait?
This is what matters - what the market wants ... if the market doesn’t get what it wants then it knocks the SP off. Then we don’t make any money, we loose money.

Is time for GF to give the market what the market is asking for ... or else ...

Ocelot, you are happy to sit and wait ... and wait ... and let them get on with it. A few others on this board are also happy to do the same. The average investor is not though.

And the real question is ... is the market happy with waiting? Is the market telling us that is happy with it? Reflected in the SP?

James, my thinking on this is that they do not have to take the placing up.

If they do take it up at now such a premium to the current SP it will be an indication that the funding has a really good chance of completing. Else, why throw good Mooney after bad?
