Dividends will rise slowly and steady when BP it’s £10 per share Looney will be the best thing since sliced bread.

BP can’t up the dividends it will look wrong share holder are been taken care of already. The massive amount of cash been made are been used for buy backs and yes helping struggling families and yes also not so much struggling families. With oil at this level and looking higher next week BP will relentlessly be buying shares without letting the price recover. In my opinion this is looking after shareholders in a better way creating a massive capital gain or simply an opportunity to cash out. I expect 450 to be broken next week.

I think it a good thing to help out struggling families with the cost of living. This won’t affect dividends or buybacks with oil at this level and most likely higher for the foreseeable future.

I’ve received my dividends and my return of capital with h and l moved to my isa and re invested. Within the next 24 months Aviva will be paying 45p per share per annum. That’s around 10 percent yield tax free.

Very strange I received my harbour and Lloyds dividends on the payment date from h and l. I own some US stock like iep the dividends are always about 2 or 3 days after the payment date.

This conversation on came about to the fact that I was told I could have my dividends early but the reality is there is no dividends because you do not own any stock. I would explain but it would take to long but spread betting give you the illusion that you’re up and when you try to sell or close your position they take your pretend dividends back so really you’re down. It’s like compound interest but in reverse don’t get me wrong there are some lucky ones but the house always wins. Yes a real investor who receives there dividends and get a good opportunity to reinvest at a lower price that’s a win win in my books. If your spread betting you don’t own stock that is a fact and if they paid a dividend you could take that money and buy new stock or sweeties from the shop. When you close the trade they took it back because it’s all a facade learn the meaning!
