Greece and the eastend20 Mar 2026 09:16
It looks like after a brief hesitation Greece, Cyprus and the eastend of the med region are again receiving strong demand for summer bookings. TUI say that flights that stop over and destination in the middle east are still attracting reduced bookings. Europe is attracting strong demand.
"According to Neil Swanson, the situation in the Middle East is deeply concerning, and it is completely understandable that some people feel uncertain about their upcoming trips. In this context, TUI focuses on supporting its customers with clear information and flexible solutions, so they can make the choices they consider right for themselves.
As he noted, destinations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean continue to perform well, with Spain, Portugal, and Greece showing increased demand in recent days as British travelers opt for well-known, easily accessible destinations"
I am looking across several industry and internet available platforms and I see no evidence to support any slowdown in the main holiday regions.
As we know OTB are well ahead 6of the curve this year and have been performing well ahead of the market. +34% in Q2 which ends in a couple of weeks. Easter is massive this year.
FY26 is 10% ahead of last year massively out performing the market.
Here in Spain we are more or less sold out for summer, certainly the 8 week peak period. We have just 16 bids on easyJet holidays remaining for gaps. That's down from 100s this time last year. We have been hit by the domestic market slowdown after the train crash as Madrid thinks twice about the Costa del Sol but all that capacity has gone to international sales.
