Some don't understand that shorts want this down and MA wants his position in Boohoo. So let them decide between themselves. In my opinion MA is likely to speed up his buying here to get his spot.

I don't think Mike has made a loss on Asos. MA is a shareholder and if the company does well price wise then this will make him money but having said takeover glory is gone.

Boohoo bought the Debenhams brand and website in January 2021 for £55 million. This has certainly added value to the portfolio in isolation and contributed in margins uptick. Cant comment on the valuation of Debs not an expert but it certainly has more value than paid.

Likely to break 30 today but no rush.

Does this mean boohoo is primed for a full takeover or partial by private firm or will Mike lose grip here too just how he lost Debs during its administration ?. This is going to get interesting.

Asos is to offload 75% of its stake in the Topshop and Topman brands, in a deal which values them at £180 million.

The online fashion retailer said on Thursday that it will sell three-quarters of its ownership in the brands to Danish firm Heartland by forming a 75:25 joint venture with the Nordic company.

Shorts need to be careful here now. Refinancing coming soon here. Mike will be proactive.

Paying debt off reduces finance cost significantly. Off loading premises would boost cash position and the costs of lease would spread over many many years. For example of you sell london office for £75m you can rent the same space under £3.5m annual that is at 4.5% circa rental yield to the buyer this would take over 15 years given rental increase to come during the life of the lease.

Another point to note is that over the years huge capital investment in automation and setting up online and on ground platforms are yet to fully return it's worth.

The important factor is would Boohoo be able to increase sales volume, reduce returns and maintain healthy margins?

Boohoo has self inflicted by over spending and by the looks of it the actions are being reversed and revisited.

Markets are down again due to fear of recession and trades show that shorts are at it again. Not sure if there is any cat involved it this at the moment.

Shore Capital said: “The news to negotiate its debt is, however, concerning, to us, and signals perhaps a weaker financial constitution, but if successful could provide greater reassurance around liquidity and finance costs.”

Fraser Group will be very careful in putting an offer forward. If MA gets 30% does his group have enough to buy out the rest? No one is talking about a merger call me stupid but no harm in putting it forward.

If owners buy this would give a lot of confidence to the market and might keep edge up against the Fraser group. Just my thoughts. DYOR
