the quiet one1: LB, I can understand your frustration, many people find it difficult when investments do not go as originally planned, or as is more often the case, the disappointment that comes from feeling let down by a Board that seemingly does not hold shareholders at the core of their decision making. However, if one were to see themselves as passengers on a journey that will have many twists and turns, often taking directions that you wouldn't, then there is always a choice to reconsider the investment. However, my view is not to reconsider based on just what your initial thoughts were when first invested, but to relook with fresh eyes and ask, would I invest today if I were investing for the first time. In that respect I would, but it is for all of us to take this decision solely based on where we think the investment will go and in light of analysis that might also exist in comparable companies. I have considered heavily the potential for this latest find to be as hoped and I bring myself to consider many aspects of why I am invested; 1. The late announcement of the find and thus leaving time for greater analysis and hopefully greater accuracy in the statement of find. 2. The comparisons to Theranos and the ridicule getting this message wrong would bring. 3. The large personal investment made by the CEO. 4. The change in political landscape russia has bought upon the world (russia purposely written with a small 'r' as a sign of disrespect). 5. The move by the US to push for greater home grown oil. 6. The undervalued nature of COPL based on both the recent find and the low valuation taking into account the evidently great price paid for Atomic. 7. The heavy comparisons we are demonstrating against GKP and their Shaiken oil field find in 2009. This find was announced around the 9p to 10p a share, eventually topping out just over 2 years later at £4.65 or a 51 multiple, they also took a while to really accelerate their share price against when the find was announced. I think all these reasons and others give me cause to commit a considerable sum to this investment and thus am happy to be patient.
