I know nothing about these vessels but I'm guessing all these geometric vectors are computer controlled? I.e. enter a set pattern on a screen, perhaps with way points, press "go" and let the ship do exactly what it's told, automatically correcting for tide, wind, wave direction etc.

If so, that's very clever. I'd guess they are checking that the ship can do exactly what it's told in a repeatable manner. Either that or the 1st officer has a suspected hangover and the sea traffic cops are making sure he can draw a square before letting him off with a caution.

Forgive the O/T topic but hey, it's Friday, nearly beer-o'-clock and our share has just weathered a sudden squall rather well. I for one am feeling relieved and vindicated for holding and binning my earlier, ill-advised VRS stop loss.

As well as VRS, I have some US stocks. I can't find a decent share chart forum to discuss US stocks. I've been using the Yahoo! Share Chart pages "conversations" window but frankly, I might as well look at You Tube for all the ill-informed, hot-headed, troll- tripe that's posted there. The "investor articles" posted there also seem to be poor quality click-bait.

Can anyone recommend a quality international share chat BB or forum?

Wise words for sure (sorely wish I'd bought more at 83p) there are so many large variables at play in the world just now; Trump, Climate change, End of Bull run?, Brexit, Italy etc etc.

However I don't necessarily see VRS as needing worldwide economic growth to succeed. If graphene produces just a fraction of it's potential benefits, it will be replacing so many existing materials that the graphene market itself could easily experience a boom time even in a prolonged economic downturn. Will VRS be on the gravy train? I'm betting yes.

Can't we just let these folks do their job (for us) without putting them under a microscope.

Or rather, they are still hoping to get their money back. Which is, I suppose, some consolation.

I hope you don't think I was calling you greedy. The "greed" I referred to is all mine, and all in my head only. I enjoyed the thought that the 85p -£1 targets of some might be a tad low and I am interested to hear from more knowledgable folk who think it will go higher.

I do enjoy having mine tickled and punching numbers like £3, £5...£12.50! into the calculator and multiplying by my holding. Then a wee fantasy about what I might do with the cash and how pleased my missus will be when I tell her how clever I've been....But then Pop! Back to reality.
I can sense that type of thinking is not healthy for me because if we don't get the bonanza, I'll feel like it was stolen from me, when, in fact, it was never mine in the first place.

There's some serious endeavour needed before payday and plenty of hazards in the way first.

Watching the price this morning and decided to buy some more at 168p. Filled the kettle and returned to PC and the price is 178p ! Oh well.

I'm trying to understand the recent SP rise that began around 6th sept'18.

I can't find any announcement which triggered it or explains it. Was it just a growing awareness of the potential of VRS? Was it all down to the VRS investors' golf day which preceded it? I may well be missing something.

I'm happy to see my "profit" rising but would like to better understand why.

I wasn't criticising VRS's documents as such.

Just a general complaint about the signal to noise ration in so many company reports. That and a perceived whiff of superiority from those who actually enjoy that type of stuff and think that people who don't are somehow intellectually inferior or lazy.

As someone who wrote a bit of policy for a large organisation, I tried to use an "easy read" style of communication. It can be quite hard to do because it forces you to think about what you are actually trying to say and then say it plainly. Thus;
"We are continually looking
to build new relationships
with global companies to
incorporate graphene into
their applications."

Could be written as: "We want to do deals with global companies and get them to use our graphene in their products"

Apologies for the mangled text in my last post. (Typing blind on my phone because the "keypad" bit uses up the whole window and I can't see what I'm typing.)

I think many people who like reading reports fail to appreciate just how tedious they are for many people. I read these reports and the language is so torturous and riddled with caveats that the information evaporated as fast as I’m reading. I can build just about anything, and turn it over in my mind as a 3D model, but most company reports Ar double Dutch.
Why can’t that make it simple?if they know their business so well they should be able to explain it to a 6yr old..
But yes, important to know what your buying.

I suspect it’s a Beach Boys reference rather than some kind of Bat Signal. LOL
