Supply vessel at stopped AM. "Any thoughts?"
It's always the packed lunch in my experience. You're just getting into the journey, thinking about the scotch eggs and you remember you left it in the fridge. Probably had to send a wee boat to bring it out.
Just IMO.
ADuk: "Sorry, but don't want to discuss that any more."
Fair do's. I shouldn't have raised it. My mistake. I forgot about all the hullabaloo at the time . Water under the bridge as you say.
Anyway, here we go again, fingers crossed for calm seas and a safe and successful hook up.
AdoubleUK : "That was a 'trial run', Not a 'hook-up attempt', even though it may have looked like it."
Fair enough, and as you say, just a guess on your part. However, what do you think that long, slow, random looking drift westward afterwards was all about? It had me puzzled at the time. Was the wind/tide moving in that direction?
Lady S.
Re; "72 degrees?" I think this came up before. There's a massive offshore wind farm being built up there. Maybe trying to give it a wide berth?
escargot; I don't care how f........ing runny it is!
It sounds lovely.
He's on here looking for someone to hold his hand, reassure him and tell him exactly when to buy in just as it is about to "10bag".
Sadly, real life doesn't work like that.

" I sold hurricane at almost 60p..."
What he doesn't say is that he bought at 57/58p or thereabouts after watching it rise, then bottled it and sold as it started to drop.
I have some sympathy because I've done equally stupid things myself, but I don't try to present myself as a shrewd investor. Can't work out if Only1 is a child or adult?
Good to have you back ADuK Hope all is well with you.
You've been keeping a weather eye on things here eh? Good show.
Where's adoubleUK?
There must be Grateful Dead related aspect to the recent chat here.
Amaja; "..So, another week of patient waiting is to follow...."
Ach, to hell with that. I'm fed up waiting. Just had a large glass of Highland Park and feeling like me and my wee brother could manage it nae bother with his 16ft RIB and 40hp Yamaha outboard. Should be able to launch at Buckie tomorrow night and have it all plugged in by breakfast time on Monday. Easy peasy. Where's my wellies?
Aye, that looked tense. Wouldn't like to be in there in a heavy swell. I'm a bit unsure about the AM's plug. Didn't we shed it some time ago?
Thanks for re-posting the hook-up video Albi1. It's very informative and I'd like to watch it again.
What impressed me was the fact that the FPSO vessel changes it's legal maritime status on hook up from a boat to an "installation" and is viewed from then on as a fixed structure. There's a change of leader and the Captain becomes redundant. They even seemed to shut down the engines for good, rather than moth-ball them, so it appears a pretty final event. (Although "our" FSPO may work to a different regime).
Highly recommended to help investors understand what's happening WoS and a well-made wee film.

Casapinos,
Here's (slightly abridged) what you said here on 8th October 2018, when the HUR SP was 58p:
----------------------
"Hi guys, ...I think the recent SP run up may be over. I have for some time believed that the real SP progress here will be when(dare i say if?)FOIL is followed by a reasonable period of steady flow. Sure there will be bouts of exuberance at AM sail away and the bouy-y, cable-y stuff is done but the real arbiters of the company's success(who are not PI's)will not begin (IMV)to buy in quantity, until the assurances of steady oil are in place, they may miss a bit of the action(as I may) but if your hopes are well-founded there is a lot of SP rise to play for over the next couple of years.
Declaration : I have de-risked and sold down my position (to a greater extent than CA!!)here, and elsewhere over the last month or so and am happy to wait to re- enter, possibly at a higher price , in the new year.

You Sir, are a wise man and I doff my hat to your expertise. Thank you for your contributions here.
(Wish I'd followed your example!)
Mr Partidge,
I had similar thoughts this dark Monday morning (SP may dwindle down a bit), partly out of frustration at still sitting on a slight paper loss for many weeks then a few hours of being a tenner up last week.
I sold 10,000 shares, took the dog for a walk and then started to feel nervous in case SP rose or some good news arrived. Also feeling completely unable to predict politics at the moment.
Came home and bought the shares back at a very slightly lower price netting me an extra 70 odd shares or so. After paying fees, pretty much a waste of time & energy. Moral for me; I'm hopeless at trading and too emotional to even attempt it. (where's Nig Wit when you need him?).
So, I'm back where I started, somewhat chastened and relived to be holding stock in a company that I feel confident will deliver some nice profit before year's end.
I'll leave the trading to folks smarter, better informed and cooler headed than I.
NigWit, you frequently complain that you receive criticism on here because others disagree with your opinion.
I suspect that much of that criticism is driven by the nature (rather than content) of your communication which can come across as sanctimonious and smug, rather than helpful. I also suspect that you have a deficit in social communication and that this is not your fault.
Be aware that whilst people come here for information and opinions there is also a strong social element to the interaction on a bulletin board. Camaraderie, banter, social bonding; call it what you will. We humans are social animals first and foremost (from long before shares were invented) and those who seem to trample on social convention can be ostracised (is this a familiar experience for you?).
Telling people who may have, on paper, lost tens of thousands of pounds due to a SP drop, that the person who took their money is a "winner" and that they are a "loser" is likely to illicit a negative response. Can you understand that? Perhaps you enjoy the negative response because it is a familiar and comfortable place for you?
I say the above in an attempt to be helpful. Best of luck with your clear, concise, objective & clinical trading strategy.
Agree with others assessments about DHC's lack of integrity. On here solely to sow unwarranted doubt for personal gain at other's expense, in my opinion. Be warned.
Hook up milestone has a 6 month achievement window and s/he is on here crying "foul" after 9 days? Pish and tish.
Comments about the BOD's "conservative" attitude and recalcitrant attitude to majors have been posted many times on here.
I've tended to assume (possibly naively) that any lack of warmth between HUR and major companies would have no bearing on any future "deal". I've assumed that any grudges or hubris will get put firmly to one side when hard cash and millions of barrels of black stuff are on the table.
Are some posters saying that they think that HUR's ( and RT's in particular) determination to prove a methodology and go it alone will have upset some oil co. high-heid-yins to the extent that they would stay away from a potential deal?
