I absolutely agree regarding the UNESCO decision, we cannot influence but at least find out if it has been made an communicated to the government. UNESCO is another organisation that does not rely on a high level of operating efficiency so as I believe has been mentioned before, do they even know this is important?
Come on Kurt, give us a heads up. Your last interview suggested the UNESCO issue was a done deal, if that is true, tell us officially by RNS, is this back in Baylans court?

As someone pointed out last week, its more than 3 months since the most recent excuse of "see what UNESCO say"
Does anyone have any opinions about how long KB should wait before starting the legal case against the government. My understanding is that this is considered to be the last option as we have a water tight legal case but how long is KB going to wait.

WOW, great post SC. Can I add as an oilie of >37 years.. The things that people worry about, loss of containment, leaks, pollution, are caused by greed. Technology exists to keep the industry safe and clean and MOST people within the industry want to keep it safe and clean. What is needed is legislation that makes it too expensive for operators to cut corners and take environmental risks.
For some very good reasons that you have pointed out SC, oil is not going to go away just yet, there are too many benefits. The environmentalists in the Bahamas need to get off of the "Not in my back yard" train and realise the potential benefits to the Bahamas. That being done they can use their voices to ensure that the industry has a strictly environmental foundation and the money doesn't just end up in some ministers pocket, but is used to develop future sustainable industries as some have eluded to before.

As you can see your argument is a little inconsistent. Either its because its a British registered company, in which case it doesn't matter where the shareholders come from, or the fact that its owned 70% by swedes IS relevant.
Sorry to sound pedantic, but this is a public board, all are entitled to opinions. If you wish to state my opinion as irrelevant then have the courtesy of giving a valid reason.
