RE: Bonds unsold1 Sep 2019 15:38
Buyer BEWARE!! I have for many years invested in several stocks and seen some very strange outcomes. I once followed director buys when one director bought £250000 of stock in his company so I thought this was a good company to invest in. I plunged in and within 7 days the company was in administration. My investment totally lost. Worthless. The company 15 years later is still thriving though under a different name with the same director now a mega millionaire. Who's the patsy here!! Thinking I would be smart I decided to play safe and invested in 2 of our country's stalwart companies at the time, thinking that at least I would receive dividends and possibly some modest growth to help to repair the damage, and give me some security in my retirement. I choose Barclays and M & S and invested all that I had I left. and watched as both sank below the waves. I waited and waited spurred on by the Motley Fools that things would come good and both would recover. Hang on they said and I believed them Nursing 60% losses on both I finally gave up and invested what I had left in Sirius Minerals 280000 shares at 15. 80 p within a week of they fell to 8 p and recovered to 10.40p as of today. I am now down approx 35% again The bonds are about to be re issued with CF stating that they will sell. I do hope so. I f their is any light at the end of the tunnel and maybe again I am be niave is that all of the big shareholders are not selling out. Theses big companies if they they knew they were just about to loose 20, 30 or 50 million pounds would have fled the stock long ago . Not only that these companies or at least some of them are quite capable of buying up the bonds themselves not only protecting their initial investment but aquiring more of the company going forward. If on the other hand and I hope I am wrong theses large companies are willing to chuck away 50 million pounds at the moment and then swoop in when the bonds fail to sell and take over the company , once it has it gone into administration for a fraction of its true worth. Sxx are notorious for not given out information. The works are going well, way ahead of schedule. I just hope we long term shareholders are not being conned.
