Perhaps that should read "the fuel is to be produced etc" otherwise it would have been made ages ago. I hope they have the foresight to produce enough to complete the Commercial trial as well as the Industrial one! Surely not have to go through the same issues/delays a short time down the track???

Perhaps no clear explanation Salinger but a suggestion might be that sourcing a refiner to produce such a small batch size is proving problematic. Similar comments were made in last update...

Interesting to see Petroteq SP still rising in US, while being suspended in Canada and Germany. Today is the deadline for US compliance or will be suspended there as well. If that is the case, I wonder if it is a deliberate ploy to stop speculative SP movements while the "bidding war" (if there is one) takes place.

Strange time for the CEO to depart but it could all be part of a bigger plan?? I still hope one of the bidders is Shell and with their MSC association, they might be maneuvering to a position where they can acquire all three, (PQE, TOM & QFI). Or, am I just dreaming.....

Excuse me for p'ing on the BioMSAR bonfire but where is all the glycerine going to come from???

I realise it is a waste product from bio-diesel production but the supply will only be a fraction of the demand if this really kicks off. I have also read of the options to produce glycerine from other sources, (wood algae etc.) but we are probably 5-10 years away from commercial production of glycerine and even then I have my doubts the supply will be sufficient and cost-effective.

For me BioMSAR will be for niche markets, especially in the early years, although one sentence from the RNS did give me some hope;
"This engine was the same generic type previously used for MSAR® testing, though it has since been modified for dual fuel operation, and this required further work to enable comparison with the earlier MSAR® test results."

If the same engines can run on both fuels, then there might be a possibility of doing the bulk of the journeys on MSAR and switching to BioMSAR when in coastal waters.

Does anyone have any idea just how much glycerine would be required to power half the MSC fleet using BioMSAR alone???

Certainly interesting times for PQE shareholders. Potential Bidding war, CEO stands down after buying around £250k worth of shares in last few weeks and now the CTO, although the underlying issue is well-known.

Looks to me this has surfaced during due diligence process of one of the bidders?? Did Bilyumkin have to take responsibility and have to stand down?? Is he a stand alone "against the offer" executive and found his position untenable??

Maybe none of the above but certainly interesting times and seems to be a lot of activity behind the scenes.

Whatever the issues with Tomco/Valkor/Petroteq, it appears buyer(s) are very interested in gaining control of Petroteq and willing to pay around 3-4 times the current value for their shares. Who knows what will become of the whole oil sands opportunity but it appears its development is about to gather pace. QFI may very well benefit from this and today's uplift in SP could well be linked to the others.

Interesting news on Tomco BB re possible bidding war emerging for Petroteq. Me likey!!!

Yes DPS, it's amazing what a little update with a snippet of good news can do to the confidence. Tomco heading north again today too. Let's hope all the partners involved can drag each other up via collaboration

I see Tomco have now factored in the sand sale proceeds to their production costs figures, reducing the cost of production of bitumen/diesel to $10.20 per barrel.

From reading one of the links below, it would appear the MSAR production capability at QRF is being scaled up?? Be a good development if we can produce our own MSAR/BioMSAR in sufficient quantities for smaller trials, which should speed things up...

The BoD would say that wouldn't they. Fact is the 0.5 Euro offer is effectively 4 times the current price of the shares and could be argued, very generous. If I'm offered that price I will gladly dispose of a fair chunk of my shares.

Hopefully they can come to an amicable agreement and possibly a higher price, ($1 Can??) with an offer to be made to all shareholders.

POSP - Time to move on to commercial 5,000 bpd plant.

Looks like both Petroteq and Greenfield will be looking for funding to build separate plants over the next 12-18 months, giving QFI two potential clients for the MSAR adoption.
