Does that not depend on how the % is split between the holders and whether they have passed over the threshold and have been bought as corporate entities (3%) or as individuals (5%).

I do understand the bear case completely and i think this has been pumped up by the Robin Hood traders.

However for those that have been in a long time (or for me April) it’s going to need to be some drop to wipe out our positions.

I’ve become quite attached now and can never quite bring myself to take a bit of profit. For me it’s one of those that you don’t want to be out of.

Surely a shorter had to buy to close their position?

One of the first bits of information you give your broker is your NI number.

All government databases pretty much linked now through the government gateway so in the event of an inspection the government knows pretty much everything about you on any government database down to what car you drive, all bank accounts linked, mortgage, land reg records, etc.

I didn’t sell any in the end. Never a good thing with a share but I do feel attached to them. Life would certainly be a lot duller without.

Yeah I didn’t open my position till about 4pm and there was a jump to 7p at close.

It’s addictive stuff though. I usually follow the share prices loosely and take dips and rises with a pinch of salt unless serious gains or losses are being made. With this though I’m finding myself tonight looking at the US stuff and hovering over the buy button.

I’m hoping HSBC start trading them soon enough so I can come in properly. I’m going to have a play around with this in between Xmas and new year to see if I can make some money or more likely lose a bucket load.

Yeah I’ve got a feeling this could be a very steep learning curve.

After the close my loss is only at 2.8% now so with a good start tomorrow I might be in profit.

At the end the buy and sell price is both 7p.

Is this normal?

It’s open 7.5% spread! Had a read last night and it looks like IG close your position at 50% of your margin and I’ve only funded what would have been 30% of what i would have bought had I purchased them. So in theory, if I’ve understood this correctly I can tolerate a 15% drop before my position is automatically closed. I’m hoping for a bounce back tomorrow cause it’s been a blood bath today. The £ tanking against $ has hedged me slightly.
