HH - good posts there. I remember the morning after the Truss budget and I was thinking do the government not have a PR department. Jotam - you are missing the point where the whole world suddenly wanted PPE, the demand spread much further than healthcare settings. Every shop, factory, office, etc, basically anywhere that was open and had people in it needed PPE.

The demand outstripped supply for three or four months by a factor of thousands. Pieces were needed globally in their hundreds of billions. Stocks may have been run low, to save money but not in the anticipation of an unprecedented pandemic of the proportion we saw.

My reality is simply a more reasonable calmer more considered one then yours which is basically ‘I hate the Tory’s and to hell with the rest.

The kicker afterwards was when they dragged the rate at which you start paying 45% down to £125k from £175 putting thousands of people into the additional rate and had people scrambling to their pensions.

Jotam - there are not many pure suppliers of PPE and the supply chain was/is not vast. PPE was being made by companies turning their manufacturing round to produce it. Applications were fast tracked for those who had the capacity and the know how. Singular anecdotal reports do not paint the picture.
