The problem with all these miners is they are in control of very little. Most of the critical success factors needed to thrive are not in their own hands. Macro, power, btc price, on top of that Argo now have a huge data centre to pay for.

They should have been selling every month and running like a proper business and now they are paying the price.

Ian - what you continually fail to understand is that the DIP lenders are first in the queue. They could pull the plug on the DIP finance and the company basically goes under.

CIneworld confirmed in Isreal’s statement that there are no other willing lenders and there won’t be while the priming facility (£1b) is still in place.

Interest is calculated on a compound basis, so every mortgage payment is split between capital and interest, with the capital payment reducing the amount of loan on which interest is then paid. So with rates at 10% someone with a £200k mortgage does not have a £14k interest bill per year but around £9k.

I suspect first time buyers will end up taking longer mortgages while the interest rates are high to make them more affordable. The real question is how much will interest rates come down when inflations settles.

I’ve travelled all over the UK for both work and socially including lots of time in the North West in your Manchester and Liverpool. I had a large group of friends in Manchester for example for a very long time when I was a United season ticket holder. I actually work in Durham quite a bit as well as am familiar with the North East. I have many colleagues there and the wider teeside area. London is a place I prefer to get in and out of.

I’m from a council estate and a single parent family poor. My mother still lives in the same house. Stop preaching eh?
