HH - think the issue is the path back to profitability is probably quite long and outside the board’s control under the current macro.

I think they’ll be some buying down onto BH though, whether that’s enough to reverse the lost sales from the bread and meat customers remains to be seen.

I don’t think BH is in danger of disappearing anytime soon though. Too much liquidity at the moment.

They are quite generous with there ‘adjusting items’ from what I have read.

I think too much is made of director buys. For most directors the meat comes after the results and BH is a typical example of that.

NED buys show real confidence imo.

I’m a subscriber to the IC and I have always found them quite level headed and impartial in terms of their assessments.

Everything is wrong here at the moment - consumer sentiment (rightly or wrongly), macro economics, heavy short positions, etc, etc

I think some of this COL crisis coverage is a bit overdone now. The last GDP figures were revised upwards and we actually grew. So we are now looking to 2023 Q1 as being the earliest any potential recession could be confirmed. We've got nearly full employment as well and I think corporate UK is holding up reasonably well given the inflationary cost pressures

I don't know about you guys but in my area folks still appear to eating out, shopping, etc, etc. That said I work in a homeless shelter/food bank and we are definitely seeing a combination of more use and less donations.

If there is dip could the cinemas be a more affordable alternative to say eating out?

I like a mix of both. If anything I’m more no tie now. If I’m going to a meeting through I always wear a suit. There’s definitely a move back to the office happening, just more of a hybrid approach.

I’ve managed to bag a couple of bargains this weekend. I mentioned last week that ASOS were offering above average discounts.

Ted Baker sent me a code for 30% off this week so have ordered a couple of pairs of jeans. Then I popped into Next (not online) and they were selling suits at 50% discount. Managed to get one with trousers and jacket which I can’t always do when paying full price.

Even if there is no actual recession at the moment and almost full employment the media are going to batter the UK economy into a downturn.

Haven’t read the Next results but I thought it was very strange behaviour from them.

I think things are going to start calming down now. Hopefully a bit of a rally and this has all been a bit overdone based on a budget that does have potential to deliver economic growth or at least not put extra strain on it by for example hiking up the corp tax rate.

I think the fact still remains, we don’t have enough houses, and PSN serves the more affordable end of the market. I’m still not convinced enough to buy more yet but am keeping a close eye.

C11 is a chapter of the US bankruptcy code. So it’s an option once a company runs out of cash that buys time.

Hence all the court proceeding and negotiations with lenders, etc.

HI Tegop - C11 is a form of bankruptcy but one where the company is given time to try and rescue the situation with a stay from legal action.

It's similar to going into administration in the UK.

C7 is when there is not really any chance/hope and the company basically folds.

That was the point where they refused to take the judgement into account when assessing going concern.

Whether you agree with the comment or not I think I’ve called this situation pretty bang on so far, where other posters (not yourself) have refused to even consider the information I have pointing out to them. - much of it published by either the company or the court information.

Then you’ve got posters like FigTreeHarry who cajoled the board with senseless ramping, make their money and then disappeared. At least Poor is still hanging about.

They would be a strong case for providing for it though I would have thought, after all they are supposed to present a true and fair view, that said I'm not an auditor.

If they were paying supplier late then they’ve probably lost out on settlement discount. If volumes are down then rebates would suffer. This would impact concessions costs only though I would have thought.

What the average revenue per seat? Can that easily be calculated.

Plus you’ve got currency translation differences on conversation of the accounts.
