Novacyt has been working to address the current reported shortfall in extraction reagents required to perform PCR testing through the development of a new "direct-to-PCR" extraction method prior to running the Company's COVID-19 test. This removes the need for some scarce reagents and significantly reduces the number of extraction steps, allowing faster cycle times, higher throughputs and cost savings.

As I understand it - its the supply of some of the reagents that remains a bottleneck - as well as the manufacturing capacity, which as far as I can see really is a secondary issue - I'm pretty sure if they could get sufficient raw materials then they would have signed up as many secondary producers as they could and ramped up production to as many of these little bunnies as they possibly could -

apparently there's 76 raw reagents required (which they are desperately trying to reduce for a home test type product) - it only takes shortage of one of these (specialised) materials to ensure the bottleneck

Firm Placing of around 14 million shares has already taken place - around a week or so ago
Conditional placing of the remaining 26 million was dependent on todays shareholder meeting and they will hit the market for inclusion tomorrow

Total shares 40 million - the remaining 26 million are probably somewhat already in the price but I reckon there'll be a fair amount of profit taking by the institutions taking part to reduce their risk and this will reflect in the share price - probably a retrace of around 9/10 pence by my estimation (that's a guess and what seemed to have happened with the previous tranche and cannot be guaranteed) - then it'll be back on its interminable journey to who knows where while we wait on the RNS regarding results

You should see the total amount of shares in issue reflect this tomorrow via RNS/TR1 - +26 million

29 million new shares - can be traded from tomorrow - already priced in ? !

Unfortunately its the nature of the beast - with the current effervescence surrounding this share then anyone coming on with any sort of negative view is likely to be swamped with accusations of trolling - I'm long in here and SNG at the moment but am concerned about airing a view on that board of the one major concern I have there (not relevant to this share) that businesses should be run by businessmen and not scientists (who likely would be looking to secure funding of their faculty into the distant future rather than maximizing profit )

The one negative comment I would venture is that maybe - just maybe - NCYT offer to become a not-for-profit organisation in respect of humanity in a time of world need

I'm with the t/o camp - GSK or AZN- what price is anyone's guess but right now would conservatively figure opening offers of around 600 +

If you are of a nervous disposition then TOP SLICE - once you are on a free-run (ie share-holding is at zero cost) then you will find how much less nerve shattering it is when things start to go wrong (my experiences specifically CEY and TCG)

Further to the announcement on 12 March 2020, Novacyt can confirm its manufacturing partner,
located in mainland Europe, is BioType Diagnostic GmbH (BioType). BioType, based in Dresden,
Germany, is making excellent progress in scaling-up manufacturing and the first batches of
product have been delivered to Primerdesign’s Southampton site for final assembly. In addition,
the Directors have taken the decision to increase the level of output contracted with BioType,

than 4 million tests per month.

Im quite new to this also but it occurred to me that maybe a big buyer wanted the shares quick - a million or so ?? - could be institutional dealing direct with the MMs - MM would then try to fulfil that order (they want to keep the big buyer onside) and there could be a TR1 of major buyer by errr... Tuedsay - once the buy orders were filled then the demand dropped off a cliff

£199 seems a little steep to me - I presume that's one test - maybe all the residents could "lick the stick" and that way will find out if ANYBODY in the household has it ???
