yeah fivestar i think the spread here is all screwed up - its showing as 113-120 when I reckon its closer to 114-116

is it me - or are MMs picking up as many shares around 115 with a big order buyer in the background to fill ??

My firm belief in this and many other "Covid" plays is that their main reason for being is to research - investors come as a secondary concern who are probably seen as somewhat philanthropic. Many of these companies have been historically struggling just to survive on research grants and minor profits from the odd "breakthrough" research which they would normally sell on to get on with the next project - covid has brought somewhat of an exception to this normal behaviour and accordingly the directors, who may wish to make as much profit as they can - their prime aim would be to fund their little bunnies as far as they can, "in perpetuity" if possible. Accordingly many have used the opportunity of the previously unimaginable SPs to make this happen and hit the investors with a fund-raise to crystallise their research into hard cash. I'm not convinced they are in it for the money only - researcher are researchers - they only want to research - investors are gamblers - - they only want to make money - hopefully together we will mutually benefit.

Let no-one here kid themselves that they are investing for a cure or test for covid - if you are then you should be making charitable donations or contacting companies of this type to make your feelings known - no we are all here for a little excitement and a little wedge.

No - its like a dividend - you need to be holding the shares as at the RECORD date (anticipated 10th June for 1st Distribution and anticipated 22nd July for 2nd Distribution) at which time the shares will "Crash" by a broadly corresponding amount

They had a hunt around their cupboards and down the back of the sofa - and found StemPrint at nil value on their balance sheet. They reckon StemPrint worth in the region of 2.6 Billion - if they only get half that for it then this is a ten bagger (approx) ? - so why did the share price only go up 13% ??

Shares aren't showing as transferred with HL (still "Assd Line HSBC") but got the distribution dividend today

To clarify - correct me if I am wrong but HL to me anyway is Hargreaves Lansdown - who have nothing to do with Lansdowne Partners (a "secretive" hedge fund)

Yes they both have had adverse dealings with Woodford - but as far as I am aware HL as an institution have not got a big stake in Synairgen

Hate to de-ramp but personally I think this is a no brainer - you can't sell your product you can't make a profit - simples !?

Sorry I should have said - if you look at the charts the trend appears to be UP - granted it doesn't feel like it sometimes - but thats got to be a plus

Unfortunately the initial effervescence on this share has gone - pi's, speculators and day traders going elsewhere for the quicker money

There has been little news on this share, they've been tight-lipped about the double blind tests (and rightly so) - this has caused the gradual slide in the share - the news everyone is waiting for is the trial result - and as has been pointed out - this is going to be late may or even early june

This will either rocket on a good trial result - or crash back on a bad one - maybe to slightly better than pre-covid values - probably around 15-20p

yeah and if you didn't already have US listed shares your broker will probably want you to complete a form , W8en or something similar - it's for US tax purposes - it normally can be done electronically - but I wouldn't have thought that would lead to any further delays

They are NOT one-trick ponies

GDR specifically -
For the past five years they have made a loss of around £4-6 million a year
They have made a fund-raise (free cash) of around £8 million (which they would never have been able to do pre-covid)

Whatever happens in respect of their Covid play - they are funded for at least another year or two - they have simply guaranteed their future for a couple of years - if Covid pays off there could still be serious money to be made for shareholders - if it doesn't - then they are funded - its a bit like top-slicing - GDR as an entity seem to be on a win-win - as for the shareholders - well we're all here for a bit of a gamble aren't we ?
