I would have thought more upward movement in SP to go if Dai Ichi not started their 15% buys yet or does M&G issue 15% out of new shares ?

imho to me this is a 280+ in 6 to 12 months with decent divis yet i was about to sell up at 225 but then news of Dai Ichi came out

Shares are already ex div so you get that anyway if you were a shareholder on ex div date. 190p is a pipe dream for the mo, this might edge it to 170 in the meantime.

Q1 trading guidance is very brief in line with previous years however "significant increase" in the first sentence gives you a warmer feeling with an absence of bad news. the targeting of corporate lending to drive profitability is welcome but hopefully with the absence of lending either to borrowers who are being turned away elsewhere or at discounted rates to encourage further lending.

to me its a nice to have but H1 results will be a better picture of what they have achieved to date even briefly in their 3/4/5 year gameplan.

Sorry i forgot its about hidden commissions. every transaction on earth has a commission behind it of one kind or another. i wonder if Ukraine can take the USA to the SC re hidden commissions in their supply of arms to date.......

I wondered about the SC decision last night. why it would take them say 3 months to opine. to me it is fairly clear cut in terms of do consumers rely on dealers to give them the best deal or not, etc. i still dont understand how credit providers get sucked into the situation as they provide loans to consumers and it is you as the consumer who should shop around to get the deal that works for you, akin to people needing a mortgage to fund a house purchase. it is your look out what you decide upon.

anyhoo, its not far off the decision, i wonder if talks are taking place offsite between the SC and UK government and FCA as to how to deal with this in an equitable manner for all concerned. just my thoughts

Do i get the feeling that none of these learned judges have ever used HP or finance to buy anything and therefore they have no idea what the majority of the population do to buy houses, cars, etc ? so what they are missing is the methodology of what happens when you go to a car dealer and then have to use finance to buy a car, etc. this to me is a major failing in their understanding of what real life is actually about.

Completely agree. his learned colleague to the right was better at explaining his point even though it was a bit long winded.

this bloke could open with a G Boycott for England and be on 15no at the end of the fifth day having opened on the first morning of the test.

if this is the best this bloke can do i can see the learned judges switching off and just thinking we better give this to him cos i cant go through this again in my lifetime !
