As Ash said earlier the councilors themselves may have to account for there actions to the planning inspectors.

Very true & at times councilors are in a difficult position but the advice by there officers was very clear with regards to the application.

Now national policy will prevail & the few that those local councillor's have tried to appease will cost the many in Surrey.

Hopefully as a nation we will all benifit once the appraisal is complete.

As far as I know we are not' accountants here & I have a general figure to a asked question.

We are not making up the final accounts & signing them off but we have been given a general figure that was aiming to be reduced further.

The Extinction rebellion protestors have got off very lightly in the courts for breaching the high court injunction at Horse Hill.

Hopefully now the judges will feel it on there own skin & restore the balance making a president & return the rule of law to this country.

UKOG has already indicated that it will appeal but it will be interesting to see if the council themselves even try to defend the planning committee's refusal as there planning & legal departments have on many occasions stated that there a no grounds for refusal & at the appeal it will be considered under national planning policy not a local political level where NIMBY councilors & the MP are trying to retain there popular vote.

I have put a link below to the leaked decision of the Supreme courts decision for the Heathrow expansion which has reportedly been leaked by a Extinction rebellion lawyer in the case who is unhappy with the ruling despite it being a contempt of court. This case ruling was reportedly awaited by the judge in the judicial review case against Surrey councils 25 year production permission & 4 more wells so will hopefully move that Court of appeal case to a successfully conclusion.

I think it has now been made clear by the UK government that its energy policy continues to support the development of indigenous oil & gas for Britain during the transition to 2050 net zero & beyond with a successful outcome of the Dunsfold appeal being a further endorsement.
