Tariff confusion25 Apr 2025 18:10
Reports circulating that some large pharmaceutical companies, like AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Johnson & Johnson, and Merck, have been granted exemptions from tariffs on certain drugs they import into China. This means they can bring in their products without paying the usual fees, which could help them maintain their profits.
It's not been verified as yet.
China seems to be easing up on tariffs for certain pharmaceutical products, possibly because it needs these goods and wants to avoid further harm to its economy. However, these exemptions seem to be selective, and not all drugs or companies benefit from them.
I'm not aware of tariff rates in this situation - can anyone give insight?
