I have no idea what that was, the mind boggles?
One should not mix up the country, the state, and the nation. Most people who argue in favour of Brexit are visualising the ‘nation’ and confusing it with the ‘state’. The London centric financial hub is not unassailable and a no-deal outcome will cast eyes elsewhere. This is not good for holders of such shares.

Something spooking the market, I wonder what it could be?

Amidst an already failing economy the pandemic was always likely to be the most welcome scapegoat to have ever trotted up the Tory lawn. However, if this Brexit fiasco goes wrong, and we told them it would be disastrous didn’t we, eh!
Their plan to hide the Brexit economic damage behind the virus economic damage, will be very difficult to spin (unless you are of the Farage & Trump mindset). They won’t be able to blame the empty supermarket shelves and rising prices on the virus. And it will finish the Conservative party off very quickly.

Brexiteers have a blinkered understanding of their sovereignty, but are unable to understand EU protection over its internal market. They don't seem to get that EU is entitled to say ‘you want access to our markets, then you need to follow our basic rules’. If you’re not in the club, you don’t have a say in how it’s run.

Gentlemen, I am not an expert on shares or investing, so I ask the question. Will the Brexit turbulence affect the share price?
Will the share price drop a little or a lot on a no-deal outcome?
If it does drop, could this be a good opportunity to top up?

I appreciate there may be no real answer, but welcome your thoughts.

Brexiters are so keen on something called sovereignty. They are up in arms at the prospect of an independent nation like France exercising its sovereign right to vote down a deal which it considers disadvantageous.

I get it: only UK has the right to 'sovereignty', is that correct?

With comments like that, it’s little wonder the UK is in a mess. So narrow minded it’s laughable, unless you intended a comic angle. In that case it’s laughable. Why not divide England also, the northerners don’t like the southerners anyway! Having achieved that, why stop there when you could build a wall around London. Back to the dark ages gentlemen, eh.
Of course if there’s a war you’ll all be crying out for the collective effort.

And for many people it will be no use moaning once their car parts are so expensive it will make motoring unaffordable. Not to mention the knock-on effect to garages, just to mention one area of the huge disruption to come.
On the bright side at lease you will have your country back - part of it anyway, considering Scotland just might breakaway and take the spoils of the fishing industry with it!

I'm not so sure they lost the argument, that remains to be seen. They narrowly lost the vote, and that can be directly attributed to the demagogic rhetoric of people like Farage and his far right-wing followers. Deal or no deal it's a pyrrhic victory.

Sovereignty is as big a myth as that of how we ‘fought alone with our backs against the wall’ during WW11.
In the real world of trade partnerships and international treaties huge aspects of so called sovereignty are shared with partner nations.

I predict that at some stage after a year or two, we will have exactly what we had under EU membership, but it will cost us very much more.

Sovereignty how quaint is that?
It's not fish that is stopping a deal with the EU - it's the Tories definition of 'sovereignty'. They seem to think it gives them the right to do whatever they want, when all it actually does is provide them with the right to choose between sovereignty or free trade.

Info: All fish can pick up toxins and metals. The blackscabbard is not particularly to do so as it’s not predominantly a bottom feeder. You are more likely to get problems with sole, place and groupa - don’t eat the groupa!

I wish we could get Espada fish it’s beautiful. Commonly called black scabbard fish in Portugal, it can be caught around Scotland. It is very bony, but if prepared carefully or by a skilful chef, it is great.

Bigger catches and different catches, the tough part is to re-educate the public to eat fish again, and types of fish that have been unavailable for years!

Whether we like it or not - dumb Biden holds the favourable cards, that’s why Cummings has had his marching orders, his vision of Brexit became unobtainable. Fortunately the buffoon Trump is gone, but his vandalism will take years to turn around. Like most, I'm relieved at the prospect of vaccinations beginning this month, but when I heard the Tories crowing about the UK being the first to approve it, I thought they've done this so they can say 'We're first!" and, by implication, everyone else is ****. Gavin Williamson won't say that Brexit helped us to get the vaccine first. Instead, he gives spin,misinformation , and shouts how we stood alone, IMO.
