I am a Long term Holder. Like Jed I do small trades that net me 1k to 2k here and there.
I want to build enthusiasm for ITV. For the Share Price to go back to the Crozier days of £2+.
Just no escaping the fact that the Dame has been abysmal. Worst thing that could happen to ITV and we the share holders and the ITV employees carry the cost of paying for this utter waste of space. How many suicides on her watch? She cannot even get safeguarding right. Too frightened by lawyers for sexual predators that she puts someone she knows to a real danger to ITV repitation back on air.
AGM she needs to go. Someone who brings Britbox deals to ITV every month. Buying and selling studios. Build them up and sell them to cash rich streamers.
Winnie my persistent attacks on the CEO yet even the big funds who control ITV now agree. The useless waste of space that is Dame Carolyn McCall has had to take a cut to her remuneration.
6 years I have said she is not worth the money. Finally the message is getting through. £20million to wipe 7billion from the valuation of a company. Biggest joke in UK business world.
3.3p may not go this time around. Looks like people are speculating about the Dame and the Board. First time we have heard of shareholders forcing the Dame to take a paycut. During covid she voluntarily took a reduction. The balance seems to be moving against the current Board and people maybe think 6 years of failure is enough.
AGM more likely to be a turning point but whispers seem to have started.
1% rise is 30 minutes.
Looks like majority shareholders are turning on the Dame and starting to dictate terms to her. No more 3.5 million for failure.
A reboot of Jim'll fix it with Schofield as host would pass the Dame's safeguarding. Even the KC who did the enquiry would sign off on it.
I noticed my voting options for the AGM are in. That must be where the big funds have already notified ITV that they intend to vote against McCalls remunueration. Possibly we have a shareholder revolt on the cards where investors go against the Board's recommendations.
Vote of no confidence in the Dame
Jed how did you miss the news story about the Clueless Entitled One having her share options drastically reduced?
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-13237989/ITV-brushes-pay-concerns-boss-Carolyn-McCalls-earnings-fall-2-9m.html
Shareholders have expressed "disquiet" at her enormous bonus and yet ITV have "rejected concerns".
God only knows why she is not just on her basic salary.
Real investors who use translation apps and still their gibberish makes no sense to anyone.
The reason that Greggs and War Hammer are worth more than ITV is that they hire decent CEOs and Board members. Not Carolyn and her many Cronies who all want millions to do nothing.
Who would have thought that teenage boys and men who have never grown up are a more profitable market than 90% of the British public who watch free to air tv.
Clueless Entitled One taking 3.5 million a year and yet the business is less valuable than niche high street retail. The average homeless persons on the street would make for a better BoD and their drinks bill would be cheaper.

War hammer, that niche market for tiny figurines and fantasy worlds is worth more than ITV. This is what the Dame and her Easyjet cronies have reduced ITV to. The UK's biggest entertainment firm is now worth less than fantasy role play
The Carolyn sychophants will still refuse to see the obvious.
Will be interesting to see if this drops below 70p with the buybacks in place. I have a gut feeling that the broker is buying back the shares around 70p and only increases the buying if the SP drops below. 250million could be a nice safety net through until the summer
Jed it is music to my ears to have you back. The space you vacated has been occupied by Pogo and as nice as he/she is their posts often make little sense to anyone. Good to have someone who writes so succinctly and with the authority and wisdom of your mature years.
Not sure the PSB renewal is any big achievement seeing as it barely generates revenue now and ITV being set free from the that burden could have seen everything put behind pay walls on ITVX (surely this is the future). Also would have meant the studios switching purely to producing content for big streamers where the rewards are greater. The markets may view it differently and as a vote of confidence in ITV.
Bought back the shares I sold 2 days ago in the hope we move back up 2-3% again now before end of week.

Small story picked up by the Telegraph (behind paywall). Only a handful of people at the advertising side. For that kind of cost saving the Dame could have just taken a 10% paycut........The whole board could have stood in solidarity with the workforce and refused all share options this year.
Pogo I have pictures of snow in Africa. Snow falling in the Sahara. Atlas mountains it settles and is deep. Hire a car in Ouzazate in winter and drive to mountains and Sahara. You will be in for a shock.
Pogo many of us thought it would go to £1 in early 2023. It got up to 96 on one afternoon. Many of us held. It then crashed all the way back down to 56.
You would have us repeat the same mistake again? That is really poor investing.
We are trying to be smart by investing in ITV long term but also by reaching a consensus on here as to when and where to avoid the dips.
I have 3 nationalities but Russian is not one of them.
The 23% rise since the announcement of buybacks is a massive bubble. Those initial buys have not been followed up now and there is no more good news coming out from ITV at the moment. My best guess is this will head back to 60s and then after the summer will move downward again to a point where the SP is back in the 50s by end of the year.
I sold a large number of my ITV shares at 72.3 yesterday. Small gain of 2% over 6 months and the 1.7p dividend. Glad to have lowered my risk.
Winstanley believes in paying 20 million to someone who wipes 7 billion from the value of one of the UK's biggest companies?
How about I come round your house. Burn half of it down and you pay me 100k?
Bond, you do not see a problem with a CEO and Board who let the share price fall from 200 to 50? Loathed by the city and investors? Who do precious little to drive value back into the company. One announcement per year from a CEO who takes 3.5million form the business.
Sorry but your judgement is flawed.
Every forum has its collection of old gits who zealously ramp and get angry at anyone who questions their lies. Lawrence and Winstanley are identical in so many ways.
Winnie I watched the Manure Liverpool game and the rugby games over the weekend. First time in ages that ITV have come up with such a good weekend of sport. I was a proud owner.
So you are admitting that by posting that article you made a clown of yourself? Maybe you can tell us about the next Goldfinger US takeover bid.
