ITV share price is a pleasant distraction for me. I am up to my neck in oil and OPEC have gone and pulled the rug out from under the Oil Price. All my careful planning wasted because USA look to have wrestled control of oil price away from the Arabs. The End of Free to Air is trivial next to control of Oil and Gas globally.

So almost 6 months into the buybacks and 93 million spent from a fund of 235 million.

Buybacks could feasibly last until August 2025 at this rate.

The German demolition of Scotland in the summer was one of the highlights of the Euros for me as an England supporter. Humiliation for either side was a win for me. I will gladly watch Portugal murder Scotland in Lisbon. IRN Bru love the ad slots and last summer that game got 10 million viewers (1.3million in Scotland).

Not sure ITVX is available in Scotland but still 500k maybe watching on ITV4 would be a result. The end of life plan advertisers are going to cash in as the residents of Edinburgh sign up for funeral payouts.

It was inevitable. The falling share price and inaction from the ITV BoD is taking its toll on long term holders mental health. They are desperate to try and move this up with positive sentiment even if that contradicts what the industry leaders are saying.

I am both positive and negative about this share. From October last year I was very bullish. I was hoping for change at the top but alas the institutional nature of ITV meant the BoD were able to cling on and we failed to get the change that was needed. Since the buybacks have started the BoD have papered over the cracks and tried to massage the figures to hide their lack of direction and leadership.

The greatest thing that could happen to ITV is the current BoD all move on in an orderly fashion and are replaced by people 20+ years younger who understand the modern world and new mediums that people are looking to for entertainment.

EZJ cronies are the common enemy of every investor here.

One journalist hopes that STV figures suggest a recovery in advertising market vs Industry leaders in Edinburgh saying that the advertising market is on the brink.

15% since April. Not even a year. 10 billion gone from the value of the company. Expecting a bounceback any day but it never comes. Just more daily losses.

Winnie is like one of those labour politicians who promised spending whilst promising to be fiscally prudent during the election.

Stong performance, good news. All bodes well. Just look at the share price to get a true reflection of how ITV is doing. The EZJ cronies are burning through 250 million to keep themselves in jobs and stop the SP from crashing.

When the buybacks were announced I truly expected the SP to soar. Back to the 120 it was at before Dimwit McCall crashed the confidence in ITV with her bad launch of the new platform. 6 months on and this is on the slide. People know buybacks have to end.

The church lady is cluttering up the forum with messages about her filtering again? I love the entitlement. People who feel the whole world needs to know their filtering habits.

Which side of 80p is this going to finish at again? Is this Morgan Stanley buying as the SP dips under 80p?

STV outperforms ITV in almost all areas. Still biggest audience shares north of the border and big advertising revenues.

Why can ITV not copy the success of its Scottish counterpart?

Everything in the Pogo world is black and white. People who back ITV SP rises are full of knowledge. Anyone who questions the blind faith and raises doubts is a sheep. Russians are bad. Ukrainians are good.

The self ordained genius cannot see the whole spectrum. Purely one side is right and that is his side. Autism?

Please do not forget the Apple bid. The iTV brand name is worth 10 billion alone. A company that has never bought a media outlet must be chomping at the but to swoop on bargain basement ITV.

All this good news and it appears that the long term investors have failed to spot that the SP here is in a long term downward trend. Small small uplifts but then the ITVX launch debacle, Covid and the advertising revenue going over a cliff wipe out those small gains.

We have some of the finest minds here telling us it will go up. Ukraines greatest economic genius. Yet the SP continues to baffle the greatest minds by not returning to £2 and continuing to fall under the Dame.

I am stumped. How can so many intelligent and rich investors get it so wrong? ITV should be bigger than Nvidia

Useful comparison. Since Jan 2018 when McCall took over STV share price has only fallen by 20%. ITV has lost 60% of its value.

So who or what is to blame for ITV doing far worse than its Scottish counterpart...... Maybe the Carolyn cheerleaders would care to explain why it is so worse south of the border. Is IRN BRU keeping STV afloat? Are Scottish too mean to buy subcriptions and internet access and stick with free to air?

Solley has been here for 10 years repeating the same thing. Rgeardless of CEO. Regardless of the state of the market or the economy. Regardless of what is happening in the industry.

Solley may I suggest filtering yourself ? You easily take offence and yet I have never seen you post anything remotely useful. Your family in America which turns out to be your daughter who was working for All 3 media repeated ad nauseum. You paid for a very expensive cruise on a new ship and then were posting on here when you should have been out admiring the Baltic and the ships entertainment and bars.

I think I made a comparison to a simialr value company before. Greggs CEO. Similar valuation. FTSE 250. Female CEO only she is delivering huge changes, fast growing share price and record earnings.

CEO of Greggs makes 1.71 million a year and 2/3rds of that is profit related, so her salary and package can drop back below 1 million if she underperforms. Carolyn McCall takes home 2.9million this year and that is by far her lowest earning year if you remove the Covid period.

I want 60k to top up my tan on the beach.
