Explain how the board can complete a sale - without publishing the new accounts? - a simple - straight-forward - emoji-free explanation of how they achieve that?

Because THIS view that you hold today - contradicts your PREVIOUS view - that compliance depts - and legal depts - would be up in arms over such actions

And your view of the board's competence is that they are in " reputational self-preservation" mode - again is contradicting your previous comments on the board:

Kando - I don't think anyone is saying the NS has a 'bright future' - but there is oil and gas there - and the industry wants to get that oil and gas out - it just needs a govt that is putting the needs of the country first - and drops the blind allegiance to a discredited belief in global warming

Well constructed pool questions can give any answer you want

If people are told of the cost to them each year - the answers are very different - climate change regularly fails to get into the list of top ten concerns

And Net Zero? - 10 billion for GB energy - purpose yet unknown - but it does have one employee - on a very large salary

12 billion to give to OTHER countries - for their net zero efforts

And a massive 30 billion to carbon capture technology - Ed might as well take that money straight over to Drax and burn it - at least we would get SOME benefit

Relying on renewables - means that for every GB of electricity produced - AT LEAST 1Gb of gas or nuclear-produced electricity must be on standby.

And yes - we ARE reliant on imports to fill the renewable gaps - from Norway and France - but take a closer look at that:

Electricity prices in Norway are high - with Norwegian voters blaming the exports to the UK - and France? - they threatened to CUT OFF electricity to the Channel Islands - in a row over fishing rights

We could still be producing electricity from local coal - we chose not to - we could rely on North Sea oil and gas - we choose not to - all because of political dogma over the last 10 years

The age of oil is coming to an end

Oil is at the centre of EVERY major industry - to stop using oil - science would have to come up with alternatives for the numerous industries that use that oil.

And North Sea oil may be in decline - but across the world - it's Drill Baby Drill

Canada and the US have massive shale oil reserves - new sites continually being developed in Africa and the ME

Companies like BP tried diversifying away from oil - and are now busy reversing that strategy - like it or not - oil will be around until economics - or science brings oil use to an end

I hope science wins that race - because if we reach the stage of no economic oil left to extract - I'm glad I won't be around to witness that event

Yes - current platforms ARE slowly becoming less productive - and the wealth tax forced on the industry has made the viability of these sites even less attractive - and global companies like HE (who declined to bid in recent auctions for drilling licences) are simply shifting new investment to 'safer' environments.

The waters off the coast of the UK still contain oil and gas reserves equivalent to 15 billion barrels of oil - enough to fuel the UK for 30 years - what the industry needs is fiscal stability - what they HAVE is Mad Ed

You even provided the ANSWER to the silence conundrum - any deal has to be transparent - and that requires the new accounts to be published

If the accounts aren't published - the shares stay suspended - and I think there might be rules about the length of suspension - and automatic de-listing of the shares

Exactly - fraudulent accounts are the reason WG is in this mess - the new auditors OWN reputation is now on the line - they HAVE to get this right - since the old/new accounts will be front and centre of any FCA/Fraud Office decisions
