We are down 50% . In the present climate what can we expect? Consolidation rarely has much impact IME in the short term and is no panacea but at least we have got away from continuous leaks yo-yoing the price of the 'penny dreadfful' I believe that decision to diversify into the US is the very best UJO can do given the snails pace of licences and planning in the UK . Despite such announcements of building new gas fired plants there doesn't seem to be much urgency by the Government to encourage onshore domestic development of proven reserves.
AIM is a casino. I am losing a fortune (to me) on my various AIM investments but I would never commit my savings or safety net to losing money that I cannot afford to lose. If you really want to gamble big time just invest in cryptocurrency. With the relaxation of rules it will sky rocket but it is too risky for me. So I have just bought in a few more GWMO
Portfolio - nothing makes any sense anymore. In olden days, going back a few years I must admit, with gold price peaks any explorer, let alone producer, with the word gold in its name would rise regardless. Ok maybe investing is getting more sophisticated but for a company sitting on proven reserves that GGP has I think the market has become over sophisticated and worrying about what Newcom might or might not do is naive when we have such as asset especially when the reserves have increased significantly since Newcrest days. Absolutely barmy. Time was when 'gold in the ground' was the main guide to SP compared with the gold price and the cost of getting it out. As I say this SP is ludricously low especiallywhen the GP shows little sign of falling. The cost of getting it out has not changed yet the asset valuation is skyrocketting. Don't understand anything these days.
AIM penny shares are notorious no matter the news good or bad. That why they call them penny dreadfuls but they are such fun.
Bsg - just about every AIM share is a 'dog' as you say beacause few are making any dealing profit. For a highly speculative 'penny dreadful' I reckon its doing OK if if you don't
Another bums rush like the beginning of last month to keep this share alive
All very well but no consolidation o any of my shares has ever led to SP recovery but can always hope that it will happen in this case. Especially if or when the 'institutional' buyers see that their 'surefire secure' investments are nothing of the sort. Perhaps their appetite for risk might increase but as long as they can continue growing their cash mountains with minimal risk its unlikely to happen.
I so wish that a culture of investing in the market, particularly AIM, was encouraged more by the government because SMEs are the lifeblood of the economy. If more were educated in school that investing is not some sort of 'toff' activity not for the likes of them and more encouragement in the media it would help. The way things are going many more promising startups and IPOs will eventually leave London to other places where investing is not a dirty word. Without pointing fingers it would help greatly if teacheers and university educators recognised that their charges future careers depends on a healthy stock market rather than regarding it as some sort of evil scourge picking the nation's pockets. The fact that the pension fund industry depends on investments to finance private pensions and they are so often investing overseas to get the necessary returns seems to be totally ignored. Rant over.
Soon be over and can buy more once spike has passed.
Good bit of logic there Tray you could be right as it would seem a good potential tie up to get more uranium driiling and 'strike while the price is hot'. In today's markets cash is king something many miners are short of but the track record (so far) is IMO exemplary. Cash raising on the back of potential uranium fines is an option.
Up a ladder, down a snake.
More horlicks
When's this massive breakout then Ria? Soon isn't good enough I want precise timing so I can buy some more ahead of the massive breakout. La-la land I am afraid
Thank goodness
Tray very much agree with your analysis . Not a question of if but when. Just takes a few to hit the jackpot out of the very many projects on the go and the money will flow in. After all its money and investment that drives mining projects and this is no 'one trick' pony as most miners are. Onwards and upwards.
Skwizz because banal rot is the norm on many of these AIM forums. As Cpl Jones says they just do not like it up 'em.
TIGRR - GMET, thought about it many times but will only start moving around when the (general) AIM mining stocks take off.
Can't beat reducing risk by sticking with POW. Could be wisdom that comes with age but possible senility which my wife would favour given my losses on AIM in oil and mining in recent years.
I have several speculative plays, mostly one trick mining companies, and if they pay off they pay off but then thats a risk you take on most of AIM..POW IMO is an outstanding exception.
GL with your investments
Looking through the transactions few are for large sums and i'll bet they just do it without giving an inane running commentary . In the past I have indulged (when it was more lucrative) and put in £20k and more and made serious money but never attempted to give a running commentary on SP progress . This lot seem to have delusions of grandeur and half the time little idea of what they are putting their money in, i.e. might as well put ii on the roulette wheel . Makes me mad.
Unfortunately the children on here are a fact of life. They get everywhere these days with their inane comments and even more inane predictions. They used to specialise in 'oilies' but they seem to be spreading all over these days. Its not as though they can actually make much money out of day-trading these days anyway unless they put in large sums of money which they plainly haven't got. I like to look on this BB to get some balanced sensible views and discussions but that has all finished for the time being.
Now that this share is getting a bit exciting, never mind they will soon all move on.
