Today and tomorrow is BID22, BARDA Industry Day. Does anyone know if Synairgen are participating in this in any way? (Apologies - at work, so can't do much internet trawling). Thanks.

I'd caution anyone not to get carried away. It could be Synairgen recruiting, it could be in preparation for a trial which will lead to a multi-billion pound takeover. Or it could be nothing.

If we're not included then it would be nice to at least get an official reason stated - even if it turns out to be a fob-off.

...on the positives list for SNG001 is also that it's a naturally occurring protein with excellent safety profile.

The only feasible reason would be that they don't like RM's aftershave.

Synairgen have stated they're only targeting hospitalised patients now, so you'd hope they have had enough conversations with Stacey to make sure she is crystal clear on that point.

So far so good then. The more snippets we get like this the more it seems to confirm that we would be an excellent, almost irresistable, choice to be on the STRIVE trial.

Remembering back to that horrid day in February though, and before we get carried away and start remortgage proceedings/emptying kids piggy banks etc, what genuine possible justification(s) for us NOT to be included could there possibly be?

That's correct Aether, but I think the fundamental difference is that they have publicly stated that they are now consciously trying to conserve cash whereas I think the hires made in Dec/Jan were with the wanton abandonment and firm belief that riches and happy days were just around the corner...and yes, we all know how well that turned out!!

Edit, just seen Doc83's post - and yes, to make the same mistake again would really be unforgivable.

Maybe not evidence as such, but I'd like to think that a company who are being "careful with their remaining cash" (as RM indicated in his recent Proactive interview) would not be recruiting for 2 new positions recently if there was nothing concrete for them to do. After all, most if not all of the "pre Sprinter results" hires are still around, so there must be a substantial increase in workload to justify the bother and expense of these 2 new hires.

Or maybe they just fancied some fresh faces in the office to play table tennis all day with? Who knows.

I see Shionogi have allowed around 14-15 months for the STRIVE trial... (should they actually be on it).

Dr Mark May or Major were my best guesses, but after conducting an embarrassing amount of searching on Google and doing a reverse image search on 5 different sites, plus trawling Synairgens twitter and LinkedIn accounts I'm still none the wiser.

Interesting thoughts Gunto...would be nice to hear some concrete positive news soon.

I also find it difficult to believe that Synairgen would want to be on an ITN program for "Lung Week" if they thought the company was heading for failure and be pretty much dead in a few months time...

All I do know is that if I was a multi-millionaire I wouldn't be sat on a niche bulletin board all day trying to think of my next cutting sarcastic comment.
