Shoot me down by all means but has anybody considered the possibility of a tie-up / merger with Crest Nicholson ? Should GFRD decide to abandon civils work and concentrate on housing and regeneration it will be a much smaller outfit. The new boss at CRST is also ex GFRD (not sure that is a good thing though). Pie in the sky ?
No offer. Details on company website.
Put up or Shut up day today. Seem to be a very small gang of us following this share - a best kept secret or just unloved !
Nice rise today - think I'll hold fire !
All very quiet here with just a week to go until "put up or shut up". Tempted to sell half holding in the event of there being no deal, price does seem to be inching up a little. Any thoughts anyone ?
Appears to be the Queensferry Crossing JV which is giving problems this time.
Am I reading this incorrectly or is there an implied reduction in dividend (distributions) at the final results announcement buried in the text ?
Don't deny results are good but dislike the £175m special dividend being combined with share buybacks. These never seem to work to the benefit of the shareholders as is the case with Berkeley Group.
The details will be out early November. Not really anything to get excited about. There will be a share consolidation balancing out the return of capital. From memory it is something like 32p a share ? That's my take on it.
Heard from SLA. Return of capital will now take place towards the end of this year, more information will be sent to shareholders at the beginning of November. So now we know !
I've emailed them with that question. For something that was supposed to take place during September it has all gone very quiet. I've been told to expect a reply within 3 days. We shall see !
Has anybody heard any more about the proposed £1 billion return of capital to shareholders by way of a "B" share placing and consolidation. I was under the impression this was to take place during September but have heard nothing. Be miraculous for anything to happen during the last week of September ! Have they abandoned this ?
Talking Pictures agree with you. Channel 81 !
From today's Guardian - not sure new news or rehashed nevertheless - BBC, C4, ITV along with US TV and film group NBC Universal are in talks to launch their own British streaming service to combat the increasing influence of Netlfix and Amazon in the UK.

I took to read "fully underwritten on a standby basis" refers to an IPO where the remaining shares not taken up are underwritten by the banks or other financial institution. No doubt it will all come out in the wash but would be disappointed if this is not the case.
