You need to take this admittedly only slightly encouraging news in a more positive fashion. I know the past year has been very bad for us PIs, but a lot of us are desperate for this to turn good. Let us savour the moment, just for a while. We may be deluded, and all you harbingers of gloom may well be right, but admit it, this on the face of it feels like good news.

I wonder if there was a period of time that needed to elapse before Tim could announce that FRR has followed him to his new firm (3 months perhaps?). Presumably both he and FRR knew that there would be no news for a while and so it wouldn’t be a problem if things went quiet for a bit.
The fact that both parties want to continue is very encouraging: Tim thinks we are worth representing and FRR believe that they have something to say. GLA

I wish it was true, but somehow doubt it....

The pictures posted a few days ago definitely had SN in them but I don’t think we saw Zaza as well...

Hi guys. Can I say a big thank you to Chris and others for all their super-sleuthing. It seems like some positive news has appeared and I'm sitting here hoping this is all about to be sorted. The whole thing has been a roller-coaster, and I fully expect a few more dips before the end, but I'm more hopeful this evening than before. That said, the signing of the DOS and the personal guarantees by SN and Zaza were both very good signs, even if the SN and Zaza felt the need to be out of the country for a while (presumably to give them a little more time to land the deal of the century!).
GLA - this will be worth the wait, and the stress and sleepless nights! Just imagine how the shorters are feeling right now...

I agree that there’s nothing much new there, unless anyone now wanted to camp outside his home to speak with him directly! Given his ability to avoid the lawyer however, I wouldn’t rate their chances of speaking to SN either...

Two things, one of which I've already asked:
1 - Is the reason this has come to light because the audit report has been published?
2 - I wonder whether this process is still ongoing? Is the October hearing still on the cards?
If a deal is about to be struck, several players may well wish to cause mischief, and hence this article being published. The mischief-makers could be internal (perhaps by pro Russians who don't want to see any escalation in the US presence in Georgia), or external (Hope or even shorters from the UK perhaps!)

Is it just me or has the ii site for FRR been down today?

BP selling their Alaskan interests sounds on the face of it like excellent news.
An interesting point to note is from near the end of the BP RNS, where the wording of its cautionary statement seems very similar to that stated on FRR’s disclaimer page on its website. Both for instance talk in a similar fashion about “forward-looking statements”. Is this coincidence or do all companies use this format? Is the format different in the US to the UK? Does anyone know?
BP state that its statement complies with the “United States Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995”. Does this suggest a FRR listing in the US is on the cards, or is it simply because they are registered in the US?
Either way, it was a good and enjoyable read. If BP were looking to raise cash for their investment in Georgia, then you can see why there was a news blackout. There would surely have been detrimental effects on the price raised in Alaska if it was confirmed that they needed cash to buy block 12. Time now for our RNS.

Looks like today is a state holiday in Texas - the Lyndon Baines Johnson Day 2019. Even more reason for this to be a quiet news day perhaps?
