Stratford. ;-)
Indeed Radar. His Oct 2017 trade was a beauty. A Ten Bagger in a few short years.
is a positive move in principle and nice to see this start to gain a little momentum.
However, it does expose shareholders to a significant currency exchange risk.
We are buying into the dollar at a very expensive price now.
Welcome to the Board DOCB - is this your first post on Birg? are you long / short?
Blackrock you say? They are averaging down here ... many here have been watching them and others every single day since 2012 when it went from trough 5 cent to peak 38 cent (old money or E11.60 new money) back to below that trough now. Interestingly, their largest shareholder who owned an absolute massive 22% of Blackrock Equity sold every single share in Blackrock just now.
Strange Times. Be careful. Respect Risk & Good Luck!
Happy 275th anniversary Fontenoy today! Remember Limerick!
In terms of take over, it's at a level now where one individual private investor could buy it but no one has been buying banks for some time. Fintech and consolidation is the theme. By 2025 it will be a very different landscape.
In Principle of course and I admire the intent of what you say Radar:
My perspective on people of conviction may differ as I see it has some positives and negatives either;
1. have read, analysed and understand their position to the nth degree.
2. are unable to adapt or are of an agile mindset.
3. are afraid to accept that their position and belief systems are wrong so reject without reasoning.
4. believe that being right is more powerful than learning.
5. absolutism is valuable in values and science but little else.
Beautiful day!
Thanks for posting. Good analysis. The flip side of your analysis is that actually as the de-globalised economy emerges those countries that are agile and have control over new relationships, currency, fiscal and monetary policy, etc (like US and Uk) will be better placed to adapt to the new economy. Those within large trading blocs will be less able to customise a response for their respective economies and have to use broad brush solutions that will have varying results. Britain is in deep water now but we already know that Europe is very fragmented economically so common sense suggests that the solution won't be optimal. So the real question for investors is who will be able to resolve their issues?
Existential question may resurface for the Euro soon with a Euro split in two currencies or worse. Why do you think the top tier US Global Investment Banks have implemented programmes for some time called their 'Euro Exit Contingency' programmes? Have you taken a deep dive into the Italian banking market?
I admire the confidence of my countrymen looking at our neighbours problems but I don't share it and introspection might serve us better.
I mean how would you feel if UK succeeds and EU fails? Stupid...naive...unlucky? Seems such an impossibility right? keep on the right side of all of this and you will be ok (not great but ok). Those on the wrong side will lose a lot.
Millenium?
Interesting that they are opening a net at .64% at Mondays price. ..only assume they are positioning for a fold on Euro banks.
Do you think its a coincidence that they located their head office at 666, 5th Avenue?
Surprised it is taking so long - in 2016/17 i expected it in Q4 19. Yeah an in/out trade is what I would consider but too much macro now for me I feel.
Since repo blew sept (see timestamp REPO post here in CAPITALS 22/9) too many signals pointing to that too. US Treasury sell off is hugely significant and very quietly quietly too because its not just China.
Are you in Crypto casino at all?
hope they get the course open soon for you Torquay.
If they put the controls in place it should be very possible to achieve that soon.
Great weather for it. You'll have to set up a driving net in the garden in the meantime to maintain your swing.
Torquay - Read your post and just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon! Absolutely, do keep isolated of course but especially if you are healthy too!! I always enjoy your posts here so please keep them coming!
Happy St Patricks Day to all especially those away from Ireland!
