The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
That would make sense.
I noticed on the britishbulls website that a short recommendation was added after close last Friday (saying to short as of the 6th), and it’s been falling ever since.
I wouldn’t be surprised if MMS are working with brokers to manipulate this - we can only guess what goes behind the scenes eh?
I guess the fact we still have sellers suggests that people aren’t patient enough to see profit or believe that even with patience they won’t see profit or they’re short term traders cashing out (great for long termers) OR we’re seeing a correction after months of the company being valued higher than it should be, e.g sentiment > fundamentals and now sentiment is running out, some fundamentals are required.
I appreciate that legally some RNS have to be posted, but I also think sometimes an RNS does more harm than good (at least as far as sentiment goes).
I wonder where the surge in volume has come from, today of all days. I’d noticed some subtle bullish signals yesterday via charting but hadn’t expected it to kick in this quickly.
I’m actually a bit gutted as I’d wanted to pick up more around the 64 mark.
Is this simply due to the storms we’ve been having and their potential effect on future results from wind generation?

“The IEA’s Outlook also shows that governments now plan to deploy around two-thirds more renewable energy by 2030 than they did this time last year”
“To be successful, the IEA says countries need to triple renewable energy capacity globally and triple investments in clean energy in developing economies.”
“Meanwhile, world leaders are set to convene in Dubai in December for a United Nations climate summit where a global deal to phase out fossil fuels could be on the table. “Nations must come together to secure agreement on a fast, fair phaseout of fossil fuels, alongside a massive ramp-up of renewable energy and energy efficiency,” Union of Concerned Scientists policy director and lead economist Rachel Cleetus said in an emailed statement.” - NOTE - I’d rather be buying in/topping up prior to the outcome of that meeting, than post.
I genuinely didn’t think I’d be able to top up here at 64.11 but was very happy with that.
I find the opening of the doors with the US market to be quite exciting, my largest energy holding is with CWEN, and I even find myself wondering if a bigger fish in the US will find reason to takeover ITM in a few year’s time.
I’m long here so short term movements don’t really interest me, but am watching closely the current support and resistance levels to see if I can nab some additional top ups
I gathered that when i saw StockCheques post history - all ramping, very little neutrality/objectivity, although honestly he'd posted a few articles here that I found really helpful and so I thought he might be one of the decent folks here.
It's really frustrating how people decide they need to be ALL positive or ALL negative on these boards. I don't care for emotions, I don't care for skewed views, the posters I love to hear from the most are those that are objective and don't come across as desperately clutching for positive/negative short term sentiment.
Did my day trading in my 20s lol, I was there when Horse Hill struck oil, I was there when Mosman Oil hit it big, and I had a huge stake in Mariana Resources at 3.6p average before they were taken over. Been there, done that, seen all the ramping and bashing etc. These days I just focus on longer term, exciting plays that can hopefully top up my pension one day, or can go to my toddler when he grows up!
Escala thanks for your response, I had seen those and I definitely think AFC is incredibly exciting.
As mentioned on another board after StockCheque jumped on me for asking a question (I think I know his type, short term traders who get emotional and panic if they're in the red and who spend all day on these boards trying to influence it going back up, only worse audience on here from memory are shorters who bash them to do the same, or those who do both in a really obvious way where you can tell they're riding the spikes), I actually found AFC via looking at some ETFs (QCLN and ICLN specifically that I have positions in), but decided that ATF and a couple of others are exciting and I want my own positions in them.
I'm long term, I'm looking to shore up my green hydrogen and clean energy portfolio as I believe by 2030 I could see the same %s back as I saw when I bought BYD (Build your Dreams) 15 years ago. Very exciting.
Not here to bash, not here to ramp, was just here to see what anyone said in case it sent me down a new research path I hadn't thought of.
There's always too much emotion and desperation on these boards, you can smell it a mile away!
I took some positions recently in QCLN and ICLN ETFs, and stumbled across this company amongst a few others. I'm simply very VERY early on in my research before I commit, and figured I'd ask around on these boards for any Mcap based info I may have missed last night.
Don't worry, I won't make the mistake of posting on these boards again, despite the fact I'm really excited about the future of this company and the other, I can't be bothered to be bashed or attacked or have people assume I'm here to try to influence anything.
I don't need to, most the time I sit back and let me broker arrange IPOs or placements, just fancied a dabble trying to chat with others here who are really positive about green hydrogen/clean energy for the foreseable future!
Will respond to you here also -
Today is the first time I've posted on LSE in years and I see the paranoia is still rife amongst members to the point where you get bashed if you ask anything at all.
No, I'm not trying to talk it down, and I'm not naive enough to think a few posts on a small scale site like this could influence anything. Frankly, if you think posts on this site can influence heavily, that's just naive.
This, and the other board I also posted on are the two clean energy firms I handpicked to research, off the back of checking out some clean energy ETFs but deciding that as I liked the sound of this and the other (AFC), I'd rather hold stakes of my own and not via an ETF.
Both comapanies seem to struggle to justify their MCAP, if I remove sentiment and focus solely on current revenue/financials so I figured I'd ask around to see if I've missed anything obvious.
I know these boards are full of desperate idiots who can't even afford to be here but day trade anyway thinking it'll answer all their issues, and that they desperately need daily increases to benefit, but I'm not one of them.
I'm just someone who given the 2030 milestone in the UK has decided that I can benefit hugely, and with very large returns, investing long term in shares like these. I'm not one to buy a stake and then whine on here everyday to influence it. I prefer to try and take a large position at the right time, and keep accumulating/averaging down if I get the chance, with the aim of not touching for several years.
So please, if you use these boards to either ramp or bash shares, don't reply to me. I'm only interested in replies by people who can see the massive long term potential benefit here.
