HH, agree, but more simply put is 'that one can do what one wishes with one's own money, but if you take a risk and win on AIM do not expect to do so every time. If you take a risk and lose (excepting cases of unforeseeable corruption) do not complain. You win, you lose, either way it's your 'fault'. In or around the mid sixties, home from sea, Eastern Service on £15 per month, I lost £150 (won the previous week on a tote treble) on a 4-1 dead cert by the shortest of short heads at York race (£750). Never had a serious flutter since, but I did have, a few years later by mistake, a horsemeat steak in France. When I realized what I had just eaten I took it as revenge for my loss. Not on my horse but on the b**ger who beat him. I can still see them going past the post. Lesson learned, probably saved me thousands, but I still hate that horse named Java. Normally I never hold a grudge longer than 50 years. Off subject but passes the time 'til the rugger starts.
