Agree 100%!!! Management of this pathetic company is taking money under false pretenses. It has staggered from crisis to crisis for years and its various purchases of other funds has done nowt but bolster the AUM figures.It's a constant source of amazement to me that 50% of brokers involved still consider it to be a "Buy/Strong Buy"

Yep- we sure do!! SP now at 52 week low and showing substantial losses for periods from 1 week to 1 year. Their Investor Relations lass has repeatedly tried to justify the poor performance by comparing Man to 4 competitors but when I pointed out to her that Man leads the losses field in all but two of the time categories (6m and 1 year where Aberdeen are worse) by substantial margins and what are "Management" doing about it she went all quiet

OK have just found the Citi downgrade to "Sell" Why can't these folk keep their big gobs shut?!!

Yeah-me too and my book loss is a big b....r having been born at a time when the SP was considerably higher. Modesty forbids me from being more specific. What gets me about this company is its seesaw portfolio-when the Flagship AHL is doing well the rest founder and vice versa but "management" seem incapable of creating a balance between the two. They're supposed to be Hedge Fund experts for heavens sake yet all they seem to be capable of is following the mainstream of bog standard fund managers. "Challenging conditions" comment- agree entirely. Some of the Mangementspeak in company statements beggars belief!! "thecumbrian"-do you hail from that part of the world??

Resilient? Mmm.SP has collapsed 5% since you posted aided and abetted by Ex-div Day. So, after a brief moment of glory following the results, back to the normal dismal daily read. IMHO I think this share is stuck in a rut and will be for some time. Manny is always quoting "challenging market conditions" as a reason for mediocre performance and I can not see such conditions changing for a long time as the World is in a turmoil economically, politically and socially despite what the political manipulators tell us.

And the best of British Luck Sir!! The SP has been foundering for weeks and, if one has a butcher's at the "Prices and Performance" section of Man's Website one can see why. 130/230 funds are showing negative returns for 2016 YTD and 50/230 are showing negative Total returns since their inception.

Unfortunately if the SP moves too fast it gets a nose bleed and collapses!!Downhill again this morning proving once again it just can't weather storms. Hedge Fund?? Yeah-right

I shudder to think what the figures will be later this month when Manny gets on his feet and starts trotting out the well worn platitudes we have become used to: "political uncertainties" economic upheaval" challenging market conditions" etc I'd put money on any of those, if not all, appearing in his statement in a feeble attempt to justify the pathetic state of this company.Wish I'd never heard of it.

A bargain?? based upon what pray? This company has staggered on for years now achieving nowt. The SP has slumped 7% in one week and a big chunk FUM are under water. "Management" seems incapable of anything apart from issuing warnings about "difficult trading conditions" ( a euphenism for not achieving any progress year on year) and all in all the company is going nowhere fast but, no doubt, salaries and bonuses are galloping along nicely. A pathetic company.

...and down another 4% today (as against the 250's 1.9 %). No doubt we will hear the usual "Mannytra" about "difficult trading conditions" again next month in a feeble attempt to justify the continuing pathetic performance of this company. Yep-having had a sniff at the dizzy heights of 172p month ago, now reverting to the usual dismal retreat. AHL had a good Jan. but has started Feb.with a hiccough.

Strange animal is AHL. It had a fiendishly good year in the bull market of 2014 but then tailed off rapidly by April of 2015 along with the rest of the market and culminated in a dismal year end. Now, with a horrendous bear market start to 2016 it is shining again-a most unpredictable frustrating share!!

...and quickly!! SP down 8% in 24 hours just demonstrating how extra vulnerable this company is to a volatile market. Hedge Fund???? Yeah-right!

Nearly at the end of the second trading week of the New Year and Man reverting to its usual dismal performance with a 5% fall in one day Vs 2% for the 250. This really is a poxy share and, it seems, the so-called "management" of the company has run out of ideas as to how they are going to get it back on track. No doubt they all received "performance related" bonuses at Christmas whereas all we have to look forward to is the possibility of a "rebasing" of the dividend. (Why don't these corporate clowns speak English?)
