The shorters are out to destroy the SP to a level where they can get their grubby little hands on a fortune and the outcome of the SFO's investigation, now in its 4th year, is not quantifiable but I defy anyone to come out fighting and say it has not been a huge contributory factor to the collapse of the SP

Disagree completely. The shadow of the SFO investigation is hampering Petrofac's efforts to obtain new business in a dwindling market. Just because the investigation seems to be floundering doesn't mean it has gone away and you can bet your life if charges are brought eventually the SP will plummet, which is what those bloodsuckers Blackrock et al are waiting for otherwise they would closed their positions before now.

Don't forget also that the SFO is a "non-ministerial" Govt. Dept. i.e. they don't have a self-seeking Minister breathing down their necks at every verse end or spitting razor blades every time they manage to make a balls of something.

In essence, therefore, they are totally unaccountable which gives them carte blanche to do just what the hell they like so don't look for any result just yet. The Rolls Royce investigation took 4 years: the Barclays Bank debacle an unbelievable 7 years and so it goes on. They are a national scandal and need naming and shaming but it will never happen.

Could the BoD turn down a deal without shareholder consultation? Any deal would have to be publicised as RNS and the shareholders would react accordingly.

IMHO a lot of weary and frustrated LTH's would look upon 2 or 3p as a good deal to get them off this dreadful " jam tomorrow" treadmill, now over 10 years old, so that they can concentrate on less speculative and, preferably, non-AIM companies.
