Could explain why over last 12 months the DJ is down by a shade over 2% whilst the FTSE 100 is down nearly 24%, and the 250, down 14.4%

Interesting to see a pile of trades from 2 days ago appearing suddenly.

Just noticed last entry in Share Trades is times at 13.43 , over 2 hours ago. What with that and Share Chat collapsing with monotonous regularity, the folk who pay for premium membership must be well pleased!

HL now showing 2.05/2.20- 15 pip spread but their figures are sometimes a tad out of line. However down 11% on the day it seems, so a gentle drift back to slumberland for another 6 months, with the usual MM manipulation from time to time when they're running out of Bolli.
Hope I'm wrong, of course.

Depends entirely on the terms of the takeover offer. Could be cash, could be shares or a combination of the two.

I doubt it. Obviously the market was looking for a much bigger hand-out but what with Covid costs and building the uber expensive Whitehall Wet Dream aka HS2, cash flow is a bit stretched.
Expect we will now see reversal to below 2 until the next "news" is expected.

Agree with you Aber.-now nigh on 14% drop today.. The fundamentals have not changed since the boom of last week yet here we are nearly 30% down since then, IMHO an indication of just how the MM's view the future of this share. However according to several posters to this Board my opinions are of no consequence so better keep shtum.

SP in sharp decline this morning-usual scenario. Some well informed and researched comments on this BB which make optimistic noises which, hopefully, will translate into real progress by the end of the year, but it seems MM's don't share that optimism
