T
Sorry to hear your loss, and the attitude of your neighbours.
It does seem people think it doesn't apply to them or they won't catch it - I'm all right Jack - and do what they want / need?
I have only been out to walk to the paper shop, and twice since lockdown to a supermarket as the delivery was not available or had lots of missing items ( delivery now available but still items missing! ).
At the supermarket, despite sign saying only 1 person / family member per trolley, there ware lots of groups of 3,4,5, a whole family basically and some of those including at risk people with their wheelie baskets... shoulder to shoulder across the isle.
My neighbours in a quiet cul-de-sac - one pair in the late 60's came back from a hot spot in Spain the night before the lockdown, and since then have had their daughter visit with the grandkids a couple of times a week and play in the garden, have BBQ or tea, stood touching at the door etc. despite the risk to and from the grandparents.
Other neighbour up the road, one car is in and out several times a day, another car is out for a few hours most days, maybe once or twice ( may be working but they didn't have a job before lockdown and are not the type to volunteer! ) and while they don't walk their dog they may drive it somewhere for a walk.
Another neighbour has a black cab and he is in and out several times a day but probably not to take fares...
Yet another neighbour has had 2 transit vans of men doing building work etc. on his house, and they are not isolating, sitting together for a smoke of lunch,
So in 12 houses at least 4 of them are ignoring most of lockdown.
I gather the Boris announcement on Sunday is NOT going to be as relaxing as people expect from the papers ...
Hope you feel better T,
V
