That worked well - had a cheeky limit buy on CINE @ 45p, which activated around 8:48 this morning, already in profit on that one for a change!

T - Should have been out for food yesterday, but got cancelled at the last minute! NExt week instead!

M - wrong starter shipped back, "correct" one ordered. Removed, cleaned and greased OEM one and seems OK for now. Also arranged to drop car off for work - cambelt service, clutch, replace leaking water pipe for next week.

Still annoyed with HL's gain/loss calc, and the cost column. Reading up on it, they take into account each purchase and price, sale and price, and maintain a "live" average of average cost price divided by current share holding.

Doesn't work - MCRO bought at 326, 306, 298, 278 and sold 3 of the 4 tranches as price rose at a profit, HL tells me I am a few hundred quid in profit for last 2000 shares ( I presume the 326p ones ) but my spreadsheet tells me I am a few hundred down .. need 330p to get into profit ( 326 plus fee plus stamp on 2000 shares ).

Same with the other holding where I bought several tranches at different prices ... led me to sell when I shouldn't have.

Now I'm back to using HL numbers as a guide and check properly on my spreadsheet!

S - gold dropped about $40/oz earlier. GGP board reckon that's all that caused the drop. NCM update Friday so GGP may zoom ....

T - nope, I was messing with the car and returning starter motors!

Noticed the rise of CINE earlier, saw about 64p but left it to rise... remembered I had set a limit buy but couldn't find it.... it had triggered at 61p for my remaining CINE shares.

Starter motor finally turned up after it's UK tours... stripped my old one off.... DOH! Different shape and won't fit in the gearbox bellhousing hole!! Slightly different part number despite being labelled for my car / year / model etc.
So it's gone back.
Old one cleaned and greased, and actually working fine now!

New one ordered again,

M - sorry, bemoaning my lost opportunity too!
They'll drop and we can get the divi before they go up £2 a share!

Plus is bouncing up! Last time I tried Plus there was hardly any movement ... the interim figures and apparently some tax change and efficiencies have increased the company by 10% value!!!

Very nice divi if you hold on 20/8 ... near 74p !

If price falls back ( won't now! ) might have to have a dabble!

T - considering trading those CCL, will wait a while to see where price settles.

I have caught myself out by spreading my portfolio wider outside the core shares we watch here, and despite watching the range and reading around them they are the shares I lost out on. Trading them in a range at the top of their SP so got stuck as price fell and I didn't quickly sell at a loss
Now they are rising well I haven't got as many left as I sold the cheaper tranches for small profits in a bit of a panic!!

SO I intend to watch / hold fewer companies to focus better.

If the market gets stable I should be fine,

Any suggestions for shares to follow with good daily range, like ASC or FEVR ... could do with a few quick in/out trades to cover my sales of high prices shares!
Those recovery shares took ages to move and I sold out too early or messed up the sales at various price points!

M - I got the Diabolo shares at 2 prices in the 2600's .... so could do with a rise... I'l likely wait for the Divi and sell a few days later... not selling in the 2500's as way costlier than the Divi makes up for. I can wait for the inevitable rise...

T - Thanks. Still got some CINE, suppose they are the too high priced ones from mid June! Had a mishap as a limit sell triggered on CINE just after I sold the cheap shares, so lost a bit on the dearer shares!!! Learning occurrence - cancel a limit sell when you do it manually!!!

R - Football, red? As you are dahn sarf you must be a Man Utd fan! :-)) I had MCRO in the 300's and 325's so only got a few left, if they get to 330+ they go for now. The ISA I opened recently, is doing badly, as I have MCRO at 450 and CCL in the 1400's .... not a good day that! They can wait, I've lost enough trading the shares I got spiked on in mid June that are still no where near that price, but sold and traded to get some cash back.

Overall up, but less up than I was early June!

Quiet day, prices not gone up as much as I expected, just sold 2 cheap CINE from last week for 16% profit!

Overall still down in CINE but trading back to straights!!
Just need a little more for MCRO to profit.

I may be away for a while as my starter motor has yet to arrive ( silly parcelforce sent it to the wrong delivery depot! ) and I want to fit it and test it out pronto!

I've cracked open a cool Coors light while catching up on the Grand Prix F1 practices today.

Sold my 2 lower tranches of MCRO at 313 earlier for a profit, rest can go when they get in the 320's.
Did buy more CINE at 32p, helped average down, and I would be very pleased with 70p, 50+ would do!

Otherwise...
Chasing a parcel for the car a lot today, Parcelforce.. seller gave me tracking number but the O and 0 were not clear, took ages to get it recognised!!! Seller very helpful.

Then spent time under the bonnet of the car... starter motor seems defunct as it isn't always grabbing the flywheel to start, ( push button start when sitting on seat AND pressing clutch in ) intermittently so has caused me to be stuck for some time in car parks this last few weeks until finally engages. So cracked off the nuts on starter to replace quickly when / if it turns up tomorrow.

Then car needs a service soon, big one with cam belts etc. and that patched up leaky water pipe replacing ( got that here now! ) and probably clutch change.
And a couple of other things I'd like doing while it's there.....

Spending my Tesla profits on this beastie now, but not a problem it's still a good solid fun car.
For info, It's a Subaru Impreza WRX STi 330S hatchback, modified subtly with fully forged engine and larger turbo, injectors intercooler, brakes etc. 505 bhp and 315 lbft. Does not take 4.3m planks!

This was for the car fans, sorry if I bored the rest of you you with this!

Also got 2 new tyres for the other half's ford, had oven cleaners in, and locksmith/window people in to rehinge/realign the french doors.

Sunny but dull, warm and humid here.

The gains in my shares this week have mainly retraced, and the ones I sold keep op going up!
FEVR doing well, ASC flying up!

CINE - ohh dear, I keep topping up as they fall ... should stop really before i am too exposed. Got some from 76p down to 35p so far since the high point in June!

Marstons privelege card came today, extra 2-% off after the Govt £10 eat to help deal. Am out on Tuesday to try it!!

Bank of England governor been on BBC news. Economy not as badly damaged as "we" thought.
Less than the forcast drop recently.
