Loving these blue trades though! Hefty buying action going on today.
Ok - so 14.52% rise today at the time of writing this on the back of nothing? Tubular is still on May, no RNS...weird.
Thanks MM. If I ever find a 100% working strategy, I will happily share it :)
Bad news on NR. I don't think anyone saw it coming. It's a testament to your trading though that you have stuck it out. Makes the good times that extra bit sweeter!
At the time that happened I had just opened my first trading account at barely 20 years old and stuck a sum of money in to a fairly high risk far eastern fund and then a year or two later high tailed it to Australia for a while. I arrived back the day after the 2007 crash having lost around 75% of it during the flight home. That was the end of my trading for a number of years. Since then I've made it back and then some through other funds and took on board the lessons of youth to keep learning and experimenting.
I'm hoping that BBSN is a solid one for all of us in future. If we lose it all in the AIM game then at least we can say that we tried.
Thanks Kitlow. As i'm mainly fundamentals based, I've really been wanting to get in to the analysis side to compliment it. Given your experience, if you have any good resources I'd love to hear about them. Getting in at the right time/topping up/selling is something i'd like to improve upon as well. Have been trying my hand at this recently and it's working to an extent on the more simple stuff, but I like the idea of becoming fluent in charts & patterns.
Wholly agree with this neo. Your point on AIM in general is spot on. Most investors go chasing rainbows. Can't blame them, but I don't see buying high and selling low to jump on to another stock as a long term strategy.
If we are going down an AIM analogy route then take a look at TERN. I won't bad mouth it as I know there are a few guys here that have/are invested in it. The market is always correct, and has sought to value it at a certain level. It's HUGE rise in price wasn't down to fundamentals, even the board have admitted this in a 'we don't know why this has happened' RNS, but the confidence behind it is the key, not always what is in the bank Despite some drops, it's still trading well.
I see actual long term potential in BBSN, hence why I'm invested. If this is gradual, or a daft spike in weeks to come then I'm still staying invested to some degree for the future. If it all goes to pot, then fair enough. I like what I see, but each to their own.
Back to the TERN analogy - I would rather be invested here. I see far more positives. As Neo has mentioned, the drop is annoying, but not an indicator (especially as it's stuck on the May 1.5ish support line) that things have gone to pot. Long term players get rewarded imho - and i'm far from perfect in that respect. No more rainbow chasing from me at least :-)
Ok, some points on your points;
1) More eyeballs will not result in more revenue unless you are monetising things well, BB seems unable to show they are doing this
Agreed on the more eyeballs – but if you have the 1st largest Facebook reach in the world, then pay per view is not the driving factor for profit and never really has been. Youtube flags in comparison, but provides a small cash boost nonetheless. Will BBSN be approaching companies, or will companies be approaching BBSN is my question to you? They have a range of blue chips already. I feel confident that they can pull more rabbits out of the hat over this year, next year and beyond. Refer to Claire’s comments about cutting the deadwood and maximising profit margins.
2) The vast majority of digital spend in Europe comes out of the UK , and specifically UK media agencies, what is BB's coverage of these? What new brands have they onboarded this year?
They have one major launch coming soon. Refer to ‘unnamed peripheral manufacturing company’. Canon, Toshiba, Sony, Dell – who knows? News due soon on that one. I have no doubt that there is plenty in the pipeline that we have no idea about yet.
3) Partnerships with Unruly may well work in Unruly's favour (they are far the bigger player), looks good on a press release but I am unsure.
Not sure what the point is on this? The fact that Unruly are teaming up with the much smaller player is more my focus?
4) Do they have a solid UK and European commercial team to sell what their product team has achieved? The landscape is full of companies that scaled users but failed to monetise. A quick glance of Linkedin shows a very high turnover in Commerical, meaning they are struggling to sell or are nit hiring right, either way, not good.
As we’ve seen with APAC, they are getting there. I’m sure that UK & EU are being looked at in addition to focus on the under developed far east market. The board have actively slashed headcount to reduce cash burn and have indicated that profit is nearing. The team is improving, stability is improving. As for scaling viewers, take a look at Tubular labs. I don’t know of many companies that can scale 280th (ish) place to 2nd in the space of a year. Do you?
As for losing money – last I checked my trading account I havn’t. Hence hedging your bets.
As Kitlow said, who is being misleading exactly? I’ve been quick to point out BBSN’s short comings in the past too. Quite frankly, you may feel that some of us have an agenda on here and you would be right to question it.
On the other hand, I’ve seen it a lot over the past few days which I find rather odd given the lack of diversity in comments over the past few weeks.
Kind of like waiting for a bus, and then 3 show up at once on low posting new ID’s? Odd.
Buy in, no buy in. Your choice. My sentiment is that one of us will be laughing in months/years to come at the other.
Amazing. Another 2 post wonder jumps in with some insight. Almost like something is going on to rattle shareholders?! I’ll get back to your points soon. I just need to stop laughing first.
Yup. Castanas are the same as cajones. Take it you’ve not seen the Kray movie, Legend? Actually, why am I bothering to explain...where’s that block button gone to? As for the other comments for Bolgas and Sean, thanks. Unlike dribbles, it contained useful information! Long way to go yet before i reach said cap but handy to know.
All of mine goes in to a SIPP anyway, so won't see that for some time to come. Did lead me to asking a few lawyers 'Can i take money out of my SIPP early' and no was the big resounding response. Not unless I fancy moving it to some dodgy Cypriot banker, having my collar felt by the HMRC and getting nailed for 45% tax.
Good to have a BOD with some castanas though :)
They know how to get shareholders on side, which is something that I like about MTR. Look at Kingsgate - they weren't too far off converting their own share holders to vote against against the existing directors! Combine that with the mentality of the hardcore share holders on this board and other's and it bodes well (to steal a bonkerism).
...also, for those that were here some time ago - you will remember Kingsgate. Although it was the other way around, MTR campaigned through the use of websites and email/letter distributions to really hammer their point home. They don't back down when cornered - and even the likes of Rio won't pacify them.
Baggins, you make an interesting point. As others have said though, any low ball offer is going to be sent packing. Sprott, LIM et al didn't have pence in mind when adding their stake. Plus the board have a healthy stake in the company too, and I take it guys like TG don't want Rio Tinto slithering in to take all of the hard work away from them for nothing.
Still, it's an ongoing concern - but that's a few bridges away yet. Let's see what happens this Summer. The JV with MOD is one safe guard against a hostile and the better both shares fair over the following days, weeks & months then the harder it is to get swallowed whole. At least at that point any major will have to put in a large wedge that is more accurate of the value here.
Agreed. I've contacted BBSN through Twitter to ask when we can expect some better news through RNS instead - I know I won't hear back (obv with insider trading rules they won't say that it's dropping tomorrow) but I hope it will be heard by someone at their end to consider more actual news releases in future. Releasing news such as the 2nd place on Twitter is one thing, but any growth in this stock will be made from long term, regular actual news releases directed at investors through channels like this.
They missed an absolute trick last month to release the May Tubular Labs results to the dismay of long term investors who will stick it out on steady rises, i.e hanging on to the winners. Most PI's don't have that luxury of time or nerves of steel to cope with the losses and will sell on a gradual slide down.
I'm going to rework my chart for anyone that pays it any attention as I'm not happy with the method I've been using and hopefully get a place where news, thoughts and fundamentals can come together. As BB don't shout from the rooftops when there is mind blowing news, it would be worth having a place where it can be found.Apologies to Harhoo btw as I've been paraphrasing your breakdown of recent events and data for the fundamentals side.
Who exactly is ramping? I’m not selling. Holding around 200k shares at the mo and looking to increase. Everyone should dyor.
Updated chart. Hopefully this is the promised rebound;

Yay, a positive bounce. Knew it couldn't dip below 1.30 and it seems like for the time being we have a little reversal going on. Possible news, or was it just too good at that level to pass up for some chunky trading?
Fully expecting a drift down to the 1.30 mark at which point it will level out ahead of news.
Excellent write up’s Bonks & 162. Thank you. We’ve sat on our hands this long, and the reward has arrived to an extent already. Firmly in the blue now, and lesson one was to hold on to the winners. Anything from here on out in a bonus imho. I will top slice in time to derisk fully and then keep a solid block of shares for the long run with no worries once this hit’s the 5s & 6s. It’s nice having shares that don’t require the daily worry and can run themselves. This is fast turning in to one of them.
Looks like Rio Tinto are snapping up everything they can at the mo! Explains this recent news black out as the pike patrols the waters looking for it’s next feed. Will be interesting to see how MOD/MTR protect against being taken over for pennies on the pound given the already proven NAV.
This board is dead, and following the huge drop today there hasn’t been a single post? Reading in to the RNS this company looks like a giant ponzi scheme. Writing off a bunch of Chinese shell companies worth £35-40 million to nil? Headquarters in the BVI? What exactly does this company do? God help anyone invested in this. FCA should be all over this one.
