Our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with QuotedData's Edward Marten has just been released. Listen here.
Agreed. Quickly, sell all holdings at the most interesting of times!
The coppers turned green, so it must have gone off. Obviously they didn’t stick it in the fridge after digging it up.
Formula Rossa - Spike up, derisk on the spike, wait for the day traders to sell and then buy back their shares on the cheap at the new base line. The best rollercoaster that there is!
If the interims are good, expect a big spike too. Good RNS today, but nothing special and it was up 15% - says it all about BBSN really. If they announce profit then I can see it being an interesting day here. and it's only a week away.
Providing the interim is packed with goodies then this will be anything from gentle :-P
No chat on here for ages, and then blink and you'll miss it! Good rise and not read the RNS thoroughly yet. So close to the interims too!
Noodle, I din’t think that anyone should be responsible for telling you when you should sell. Buy in tips have played out so far to keep a low average, and in the first year (minus a slow start) mine is up nicely to a point that i’d be more than satisfied if this repeated year on year. It exceeds ANY greedy hedgefunders annual return right now, and with it, less bonus for them having moved away from funds a couple of years ago. Selling is individual based on the kind of trader that you are and how/why you trade. Some average up, some hold for years, others will derisk. Even at that point, derisk all on a bag, 2x, 10x or gradual or sell the lot? A combination of all for me personally, and it’s already mapped out mentally should/when MTR hits SP highs. I don’t think it’ a task for other PI’s to do that, after all its your money and the risk/reward that you are comfortable with - nor do i think that bonks or anyone would or should tell you when to sell for the same reason.
Fantastic, thanks Bolgas. I will have a look into that!
Thanks, I’ll get in touch with them - not spoken with them directly for a few years now but I do recall that they are pretty impressive on call handling times. The website used to say an average of 8 seconds to speak to an actual person and not an automated voice robot!
Bonks, this might be a daft question, but can you have more than one SIPP through HL? Tempted to split it into two pots if possible - one for playing the AIM game and another for some lower risk funds that i can too up with derisks as and when they occur..
I remember SERPs, it ended the year that I started my first job (sorry Chesh lol). Funnily enough I’m the administrator for the pension scheme at work and here I am endorsing to opt out & smash it all in AIM shares instead. Not sure how well that would go down if they found out! Totally agree with retiring early. Part of the reason it’s my Friday today is that i’m off to a funeral tommorow, 59, heart attack. No warning. Make the money, get out asap and enjoy the years when you can! Atb
Haha, my bad. It's my Friday today and it's felt like one all day. Yup, it is still Thursday after all :)
Through a SIPP, yeah. The other pension provider is B&CE (auto enrolment scheme) and they only allow certain funds and no shares + the return is poor, so I've sacked it off and transferred out to Hargreaves Lansdown again for some more AIM fun :)
Dribble divisive. Apologies again all for once again taking the bait - slow Friday at work and anything to annoy Duster suits me down to the ground. On the plus side, I think that he has blocked me which is a rare achievement. :)
Hope there is still a top up opportunity in weeks to come btw . Pension provider mailed today & it's 3-4 weeks for the transfer to SIPP to go through to HL! The last one I did was a matter of days :(
Have a great weekend all.
All in good spirits, eh, Duster? :)
If it looks like a deramp, walks like a deramp and smells like a deramp...
You've spent four posts now talking about how the Cu has been washed away. Even the title of your posts is "Is the cu there?". Reeks of desperation given the provable ore already, the increased MOD shares for T3 and all of that land yet to come - hence my mention of expectation vs. reality in share prices.
I do agree with you on two points though;
1. Do save me the irritation
2. I don't understand your posts. Otherwise, why would you spend so much time bashing your holdings...if you have any at all that is. You did this at 2p, your still here at circa 3p. My question is, will you continue to do this at 5p,10p & beyond?
My understanding is this. I bought at high ones, low two's...it's now kicking at 3+. Pig in **** over here, thanks - and the best stuff hasn't even happened yet!
New top up as soon as my SIPP transfer goes through. Happy daze!
Sarcasm doesn't translate well across these boards - I know he's the ultimate de-ramper spouting guff.
I am however setting him up a crowd funding page. All contributions welcome so that we can buy him this, and guys - we only need a tenner so cough up. Give a man a fish etc...

You should consider a career in mining/geology, duster. You sure sound like you know your stuff :)
Strong buy or sell today?
"I have made a point in my post previous that the market wont allocate value on anticipation."
Really? The market does this every day a'la TERN for example. The expectation is that it will have a huge MCAP in years to come - the reality is that not much has changed except expectation. Personally, I'd rather see MTR grow steadily over the years rather than spike up, spike down on volatility but any increase is welcome with a view to gradually de-risk, sit back and enjoy the free shares.
As others have pointed out - this is just the beginning. So much more to come. All may cause gradual up's or said large spikes and retraces but I do expect to see a mind blowing jump up one day on the back of some random RNS that takes us by surprise, again based on expectation.
The margins aren't cracking though on BeHeard - looks like many have pointed the finger at this, despite what is otherwise a positive trading update. BB on the other hand took their slapping SP wise when they cancelled the poor margin contracts with a view to maxing out profit vs. additional cost saving measures such as head count reduction and consolidation of offices and the cancellation of the overdraft facility.
If BB announce profit, then I can't see the market reacting badly to this imho - it's been a long time coming and will signal a change in fortune for the company where as BeHeard has been consistently profitable for a while, hence why the market has negatively reacted today, despite profit.
That's a lot of RNS to digest. From a first glance it looks v. positive though and is in line with either what Bonker or 162 mentioned some months back about possibilities of how this will play out?
So, just to recap - MTR still have 100% of the adjacent unexplored Cupric Canyon land, a big stake in MOD, and a JV on other domes? Sounds like a win win if i'm not mistaken?
