On the other hand AXL's progress really captured UK investors' attention creating a bubble. Unsurprisingly some have engaged their brain function realising the bounty will not come overnight. Perhaps a temporary pullback is par for the course.

Objective of the above is to extrapolate Andes' watershed characteristics and stratigraphy into our neck of the woods. MA has added considerably to my grasp of geology, including erosion edges, pools, traps, etc. Recommended listening.

I have pored over the latest, revised presentation which crystallises what has gone before. PTAL will remain a p/f fixture. Rather than feather my own nest a permitted £3k pa allowance will continue to go into family members' a/cs. The company will be around for many years and I hope Manolo, having acquired his father's skills, will be passing them on to his daughter.

Among the incidentals is re-evaluation of the existing rig; it's been a reliable workhorse but a bit slow when compared to latest rig performance elsewhere. An example is AXL's Llanos rig which reaches TD in 7/10 days (although at admittedly shallower depths) for verticals and another 10 for lateral extensions.

Another conundrum is a question on multi-stacked possibilities at Bretaña. Essentially it's part of the same foreland. Concentration is on one (Vivian) formation whereas Marshall Abbott speaks of five oil-bearing horizons.

Current exercise is adding to AXL and i3E, the latter having overcome AB bottlenecks and continuation of dividend policy.

Drone strikes on oil refineries/depots 300 miles east of Moscow are having real effect: very useful for swelling the cash pile in readiness for SE extension prep and 3D seismic on this year's capital programme (incl Osheki/Constitucion).

Provided tugmasters can stay awake in the wheelhouse the next 7 months could/should be helpful to PTAL's targets.

Having got to grips with structures (in a desktop sense) there is every likelihood the horizontal programme getting off to a decent start. Pooling around the fault zones - and migration - is an unknown at present but @ 560 m risk of wandering above or below the payzone is not too great.

A Calgary CEO, who corresponds regularly, has remarked on the difficulty, although lateral length was 1,500 m in the first instance. They rectified the shortcoming on the second horizontal.

Early days in the Llanos for AXL. The acreage promises much. Retail investors here look to be more receptive than on the TSX.

re: collision - For comparison, stand on Waterloo bridge or around Antwerp to view river traffic volumes and density . . . can not understand the incident in view of bridge (tug) tools to avoid coming together.

The two barges must have clobbered each other hard. So much for double-hulled construction. Degree of protection is finite. Have had some anxiety over collision . . . only a matter of time.

Travel downstream in convoy. Tug units coming up should heave to . . . same arrangements as single track rail (with sidings).

Seems ~200 opportunists were onsite with spears but blockade was temporary (?)

a) Number of perforations based on norm for frack intervals of ~80 m. The first lateral is planned at 560 m

b) Drilling seems to proceed at a rapid rate about 300 m daily which is impressive. (I understood MA was not going to rush with every morsel on progress in future.)

c) I was slow pulling the trigger on AXL having first examined it when ~12/14p. All credit goes to a couple of ADVFN posters, whose analytics have been exceptional

d) AXL presentations are very informative although the pix on formations/geology are relatively indistinct to most of us, e.g. faults/fractures are not well defined

e) I was unaware of MA's horizontal drilling expertise until a fortnight ago

Although the detail is absent, expectations on high yields should be avoided: there are likely to be no more than 6-7 frack stages on first two laterals. (The longest Bretaña horizontal was, I think, 2,200 m with possibly >40 spaced perforations).

Agreed Kees is an authority but I question his skillset on Luika. Did he back up his assertion with any evidence and where is it?

The license area contains mineralisation everywhere and there is more to the NW around the river dam. Jamburi was also being investigated together with Porcupine 23 km east. When Ramula is added to the mix there is very little doubt we are being taken for an almighty ride.

Generally, although Morningstar is iffy/unreliable, the percentages are upward. I have noted only two bulk buys - 325k and 400k - since the last presentation. There might have been others.

W.r.t. to the #107 entry it is, of course, an old report. When considering the $20m price tab the costs do not include infrastructure facilities, etc. Therefore it's going to take real effort getting an Osheki/Constitucion project in motion.
