Having been slightly carried away by a couple of add-ons in the 18s it seems prudent to quieten down with some of the enthusiasm. If EZ has ambitions to establish a mid-tier gold producer we could be in for a good ride. There are comparisons: Evolution is one one of them. Shanta would be in very good company.

They acquired Cowal from Barrick in 2015, and it has grown. BarrickAcacia also divested in W Kenya at a truly knock-down price . . . the purpose to reduce heavy debt burden. Bristow subsequently reinforced the Tanzanian relationship with Magafuli and benefits with Mama Samia could follow. MB, having his roots in Estcourt, Kwazulu-Natal, will be very conversant with the Barberton (NorthKaap/Kalahari) greenstone belt and its associated mineralisation. Equally the more extensive Mt Elgon, Kilimanjaro and lesser volcanoes possibly have stronger features. Bulyanhulu and North Mara amply illustrate exension at depth.

Planned Bushiangala/Isulu drilling has ~60% more to be completed. The results thus far have been spectacular. Lupa infill drilling could add another 10 years' LOM. Singida has known mineralisation across half-a-dozen more tragets.

Thanks for the Vox reminder which has been a reference point for some time. My AIM quest is complete, TRX and ENQ being the final studies. With half-a-dozen prospects now in hand I draw a line for the present. TRX should do reasonably well in H2 but I stop short of any predictions. I certainly rate the company's style and modernisation highly.

It's been a riveting study.

Many would have seen the above report and informal photograph. It is not possible to say Michelle Jenkins is included although her appointment was confirmed mid-May. Interpretation is reasonably clear.

Mining will be re-established around Kakamega at some point. It will be a matter of "when" and not "if". At the risk of wandering o/t I vividly recall listening in to adult discussions in 1959 at Ngong. They included Rosterman, tommies stationed at the Rainbow Trout Inn, the Aberdares and impenetrable bamboo forests. Rosterman was effectivey abandoned, settlers leaving owing to farm murders, etc. Considerable gold seams remained in place at Kakamega. Jomo K finally torpedoed any resumption of mining operations. Remaining acquaintenances threw in the towel during the '70s although I remember one, an engineer, hanging in down at Mombasa withstanding daily power outages.

We now view response to updates as being tepid at best. In the meantime the Lupa goldfield is going to anchor the company's near-term production. Singida will come on stream next year with a further six targets to be proven economic.

West Kenya has plenty to offer. With at least 80,000 informal artisanal miners in Bushiangala and Isulu there is no question on the extent of operations said to be reaching 150 feet depth with chisel/mallet, pick and shovel. Kakamega local government is currently mapping the workings. Results will be sent off to the KGS.

Density of numbers is far greater than at Saza. Somehow the local artisans there do not seem to conflict with NLGM ops. Hopefully a similar arrangement can be made in WK. Regulations will have to be put in place in order to control activities in the corridor. Deposits are widespread - all the way down to Kisumu, and across to Vihiga and Busia. The greenstone belt, in the lee of Mt Elgon, probably has potential all the way to Kapnandi and beyond.

Very little PR needed in this instance. In effect UK and US governments are the backers desperate for urgent solutions. Am satisfied to hang in for a considerable time. Also, more contracts like the last will be awarded, acting as a catalyst.

After 11 years, having first bought in @ 35p, my holding has been reduced by two-thirds. Some losses unfortunately, although minor, but no sense in hanging on. Will possibly be dead in another five. Suffering from Cascabel fatigue. The best of luck to all those with greater stamina.

Agreed. Also, as I was told a while back by a fund manager acquaintance, BlackRock and Canaccord are shorting specialists. If so, noting they are on our books, perhaps I should smartly belt up and let them get on with their game. At some point they will be blown away.
