The AIM market simply doesn't have enough liquidity and that means a few hundred dime-a-day traders run Avacta's SP. I actually think the AIM market is worthwhile, and has its place in the grand scheme of things, but it's too small for Avacta.
Numbers I dug up a couple of months ago show NASDAQ capitalised at $13 Trillion, compared to the entire LSE at about £3.5 Trillion. Little AIM comes in with a capitalisation of £142 Billion.
This makes NASDAQ more than 90 times bigger than AIM. That extra liquidity would turbo charge Avacta's SP and probably allow AS to stay independent.
Here's hoping that AS's letter to the Times was a head's up......fingers crossed!

Except AS probably doesn't want to sell Avacta. Fingers crossed that Charles Archer is right with his hope for a NASDAQ call on 25th April.

My only concern is the small print in respect of patents and IP. But given that AS said at least 12 months ago he was actively pursuing licence agreements my concerns are probably unfounded.

And no mention whatsoever by the SDMC about Avacta requiring any sort of regulatory approval. As far as I am concerned the RNS is the green light for DE 5 and until we see another RNS actually stating otherwise the trial continues. And a private email does not substitute for an RNS. If it has I think Premier Miton will reach for their lawyer.

The recent volume of share trading is very low and now at Christmas levels. Hopefully that means that the next real rise in the share price will be maintained as we've said goodbye to the majority of Covid/LFT bag holders.

So why a TR1?

And I'll add it's now over 14 months since we were promised a "next generation" LFT but not another word on the subject. Is it dead in the water?

Apparently not. It was pointed out a couple of months ago that LSE regulations allow a BoD flexibility with RNS timing so the company can maximise its own strategy. It only becomes unlawful if the directors begin trading on that insider information.

I mentioned it on the 27th October:

I think it's just the addition of a graphic on the LHS to say "INTERNAL"

AS has experience with a manipulated listing:

"He has been responsible for the management and strategic development of the company and has led the public and private M&A activities of the Group since the IPO on AIM which was completed via a reverse merger in 2006."

I'm cynical about the British civil service and will be surprised to see the MHRA install a new licensing procedure as early as next year. More likely will be a "study" of the ramifications and another opportunity to "gold plate".
If Whitehall really wants to get on with it then simply copy those countries that already automatically license such as Australia, NZ, Singapore, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland. No coincidence that all six countries enjoy better health systems (Singapore is expensive) than our shambolic NHS.

I doubt yesterday's announcement will much influence the BoD of Avacta. If they are inclined to consider a US listing I think they will consider capital raising and liquidity to be more important....neither of which was really addressed in the Budget.
