The Northern Irish government were against fracking until they were disbanded. That puts a ? mark over the DUP. If, as I suspect, the DUP are not in favour of fracking, then you can bet that Labour and Liberals will try to exploit that by calling for a ban on fracking in the UK. In that event I feel that all of the Labour and Liberal party and the SNP will, to a man/woman, will be against fracking because it will split the DUP away and give room to hold a vote of no confidence. Faced with a chance of power. I wouldn't bank on any opposition MP who has hitherto declared to support fracking, in the circumstances

The official position (as far as I can see, in Northern Ireland ) is that there is a fracking ban. I don't know the position of the DUP in that but assume that they are against fracking too. How on earth could TM introduce fracking into the Queen's speech. The DUP (presumably) could not vote for it in Westminister and against it in Northern Ireland. That means that fracking could not be included . The Labour government would love it if they did because they would immediately table a no fracking bill in the HoC, The Tories would automatically lose, and that would be followed by a vote of no confidence in the government and probably lead to another general election of which Labour could win, and since this will have been on the back of tabling a motion against fracking. then they could do nothing but bann fracking if they got into power. Otherwise it would be seen as a deceipt.... It remains on the cards that the Labour Party may still try to split the DUP away from the Tories by introducing a ban fracking bill. Anybody wanting the downfall of TM, is almost certainly lead to a Lab our government, then you can paper your garage with duff Shale gas shares....I am not completely genned up on the DUP attitude, so can only go on the Northern Ireland government attitude

What is the DUP attitude to fracking. I seem to recall that they are not for it ? In that event they can hardly vote for it in Parliament if they are officailly against it in Northern Ireland, so it would be with good reason that if it is not in the Queen's speech. Mind you, Labour are hunting. If they get wind that fracking is not in the speech because of the DUP, then they will in the near future try to put forward an anti fracking bill and ask Parliament to vote on it. This will tie the hands of the DUP, who will be faced with duplicity if they vote against it. The longer objective will be to manoeuvre any situation where the DUP cannot vote with the Conservatives, and if the latter lose Labour will then put down a vote of no confidence in the government which. If lost, it would cause the government to fall and another election held election Might just get away with it because the DUP might reason that the loss of the fracking bill, is not the same thing as not having confidence in the government. Whatever, Labour will be trying to drive a wedge between the DUP and the Conservative party at any opportunity and frackilng seems to be a gift to Labour

Well one supposes that if it is invested on behalf of state employees, then the investment would have to accord with the Scottish government. As far as I know the SNP still have a moratorium on fracking in Scotland. Red faces there one thinks !

Venari, what assets are your speaking off ? Igas has been producing oil for a long while now, and so far that has not affected the SP, not to the level of 75pps ! They have NO shale gas assets at the moment, they have holdings in likely territory which may, or may not, prove to be fruitful.... Competent Person's Reports and 3D profiles are not assets, they are pointers. While I believe that Igas will --------eventually-------- produce Shale gas. Yesterday's close was 77, today it is 75. I could be a institutional investors may take a shine but who and how much cannot be predicted on a slide rule. So at the moment Shale and Igas are pure speculation and Institutional investors are speculation too. Meantime, the latter may decide that £5 million kept in the bank will earn them a higher return. Currently, however, Igas need to produce some drilling facts over its Shale holdings and that may stablise the current SP

Problem is that left wing policies sound so very fine and fair if you are young, In fact many of the elderly pilloried for being right wing, were probably quite leftish in their youth.The problem is the young to do relate it to income tax and company tax, and the country being heavily into debt. At their age they do not realise that we are still paying off and probably will pay off for the next 10 years the debts they left us with. They will not know that Harold Wilson devalued the £ in the 1960s and that Labour did it also just after the war. And, if they did know they would understand that there is X amount of money to go around and the the country relies on the rich even though their salaries seem very unfair, but they employ people, create wealth, create companies, and pay extraordinary amount in taxes . The problem is that understanding politics is derived mostly from wisdom, not promises . Wisdom regrettably cannot be taught at uni, it is acquired drip by drip through life and a majority of the elderly learn that Conservative is the safest bet

Generally, Labour voters are not so committed as Conservative voters, so a poll which takes very little effort to fill in could record 36% Labour against 45% Conservative, but come the election only about 25%, or less. Labour voters will be bothered to walk all the way (half a mile) to the polls to vote whereas probably 40% of Conservatives will do . So even if Labour were neck and neck in opinion polls, it would probably result in a clear win for Conservative

Oh I wonder if that may be forgotten now with 'law and order' and anti terrorism replacing social care. Conservatives are always strong on security, the labour are somewhat whishy whashy and believe that there is good in everybody, the LDs response is Law and order, whats' that !

Hi Meta4. Somebody on here was predicting a consolidation at £1 per share, but I wonder who is going to buy at that price when the SP is already falling . A consolidation, of course, does give a blip as people buy in boost the number of shares that they will hold at the new price, don't ask me for the logic of that, it happens ! Sometime back VOG from a lower sp than the present Igas sp consolidated at 40p, whereas as CAZA deep in debt consolidated at 500,000:1...Predicting ain't easy :((

I don't think at the moment that they have the proven potential to consolidate their shares, it also means that unless you are holding upwards of 50,000, you would probably get 1000 shares out of it, and without planning permission and no shale gas coming to the surface what would be supporting the 1000 shares. Of course the 1000 shares would still have the same face value as the shares you pitched into the pot but rises on shares at 50pence each will be small and without anything happening , they will soon be down to 45 pps . More realistically I would suggest 30 pps is more than ample f

I wouldn't bother about it. here is absolutely no reason for the ups and downs, although news favours marginally up at present. With this share if you believe it to be good, you just have to keep your eyes on the horizon and let them get on with their market games between here and there

There dosent seem to be any news which is enough to drive the shares positively either way. On balance this share is about neutral (well my opinion). If you look at some of this shale shares they suddenly become popular with buys of millions only to have sales of the same amount a few days later. I think the skimmers try to jump the market and prevoke buying so that the can take their multiples of 0.05 of a pence and then move on elsewhere UJO seems very suspect at the moment and maybe they are trying to do it here
