Evening Tony. So how would that work for example with say a 3 million snap tender from EESL . ESSL select say 8 different meter manucaturers to complete the order. They ask for GPRS only. Four manufacturers go for standard GPRS and produce this type of meter. The other four Go for CCs Omnimesh solution RF/GPRS.

Let's assume There is no CC tech required during manufacture process in any meter. So CC do not need to supply hardware . How are these dumb meters made CC omnimesh enabled? I don't understand how, if a meter is dumb it can be made. c enabled remotely. Anyone explain please. Cheers Vas

But it does state that the " CNIC has been designed to be installed into a standard smart meter so that Utilities can optimise their AMI deployments by choosing the rig..." Sounds like each meter still needs a "part" so to allow it to be integrated.......so each meter manufacturer will be required to order so many units in advance to be fitted....am I misunderstanding something here....GL Vas.

As of a few months ago UK investors presentation CC had "Deployed 1.04m electricity meters and streets lights to date across approximately 20 customers globally".

I wonder if this number includes the 700,000 units deployed by Connode in Scandinavia pre buy out.

No, they are not in London - I was half joking....once they are miniaturized they could fit them anywhere / attached to anything that regularly moves across a city such as bus, tube or even handheld. - scanning for virus as it goes. Just like their offering for radiation detection. good stuff.

If you compare the cost of a Kromek Biological Threat detection system on local buses, underground etc etc...to a potential future city lock down then I think they would seem quite cheap.....although they are not yet on the market.....its wonderful stuff, just need to hope it's exactly what people want and potentially need by this time next year....and that's the thing Kromek are a very clever company and their offerings quite unbelievable really....they just need a product that hits the right spot at the right time.....this possibly could be it. Trouble is as always it's a year away.
Message to the BODs of Kromek...What happened to the ventilators...? have they sold? How many? How much for? are you making any more? Timescales? what's new? step up the communication.

Last August NEA put this out ( original 2018, but link below was updated November 2019).

They were starting a project called Kathmandu Valley Smart metering project (KVSM). Under the project, NEA has asked the supplier to install, test, commission and maintain the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Kathmandu Valley. The data is collected to the central server of the system through GSM/GPRS connectivity. The Smart meters have an RF module to send the data to the server at regular intervals. In the case of cellular connectivity, they put a SIM card in the RF module of the meter. Using the 2G or 3G or 4G connectivity, the smart meter sends the usage data to the server periodically.

Beijing Instruments (BI) struck a Strategic Partnership With CC in December 18. The RNS stated that "Beijing Instruments has been a main supplier to the State Grid Corporation of China since 1998 and
has won contracts in Beijing, Henan Province, Hebei Province, Xinjiang Province, Gansu Province and
Hubei Province, as well as overseas contracts in Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

There was no mention of RF smart meters in today's NEA announcement...but confirmation that the Kathmandu Valley pilot ( where RF was used) has turned into a tender for 400,000 meters!

I'm expecting a further drop until further updates...I've been in and out of this share for over 3 years....I think it's a solid company but the sp can never hold a share price rise...it only seems to rise on either further contract news or share tips...get in as low as you can. Now is not a bad time imo but think this will dropen further on board news ..and if history repeats like it has past few years then you won't be disappointed....once further updates are released. All my opinion only

More information on how the new EESL tenders for Smart Meters will operate...
"EESL’s smart meter programme plans to replace 250 million conventional meters that will help
increase the debt laden discoms’ annual revenues to Rs1.38 trillion. Also, India’s proposed 3.5
trillion distribution reform scheme to arrest electricity losses at below 12% starts with smart
meters.
In a related development, as part of its strategy of compulsory purchase preference to local
suppliers, India has also set up a standing committee headed by the secretary, DPIIT, to ensure
enforcement of the strategy.
In a wider decoupling exercise, firms defined as Class-I local suppliers, having local content of
‘equal to or more than 50%’, will be the only ones eligible to bid for contracts that have a
sufficient domestic capacity. For international tenders, if the lowest bidder (L1) is a Class-I local
supplier, the full contract quantity will be awarded to it. In case the L1 bid is not a Class-I local
supplier, only half of the order quantity shall be placed with the bidder. Then, if the lowest bidder
among the Class-I local supplier matches the L1 price or falls within its range, the remaining
50% of the contract will be awarded to the domestic firm.
This public procurement order is intended to give preference to local suppliers and promoting
manufacturing and production of goods and services in India with a view to enhancing income
and employment.
