I think I know understand the science - well sport of .
I think I understand the timings.
I sort of know the prime players and some are very impressive.
I sort of know the collaborations - BioNTech & Genentech (Roche Group)
I am now aware off the class leading Clinical Advisory Board - I suspect, perhaps naively that that removes any real concern about future funding. Modi1 is going to happen and the start date isn't far away.
I'm very much aligned to what they are trying to do and the real personal passion held by Prof. Lindy Durrant. I hold her in high respect.

Where I come unstuck is the valuation and share price performance. There seems to be a massive disconnect.
I accept the S.P. must have been hit by unfortunately by the City Financial debacle, as indeed were a number of other AIM stocks, but for some reason it seems to me the industry/markets have yet to buy into the potential. If the pre clinical trial results for Modi1 are in anyway replicated in human studies, this is surely going to be one of the hottest stocks on AIM? This isn't a high cost Individualised cancer therapy like the ones BioNTEch and Genentech are developing (P.C.V.'s); no this can be made commercially available to a wide range of cancer patients with apparently fairly quick responses. So why isn't anyone smelling the coffee. What am I missing? Or is it just a make of patience? Sorry for the ramble!

17 May 2017 - Kiziltepe West; results confirm our understanding that the Kiziltepe vein system extends across a further 4km from the areas currently being developed as part of the Kiziltepe mine operations...The geochemical signatures of mineralised zones in the Kiziltepe West area appear very similar to those defined over the Arzu South, Arzu North, Banu and Derya veins...Ipek (the veun at Kiziltepe West) displays very similar geochemical signatures and vein textures as the Arzu North and Derya veins, indicating that this area represents the uppermost parts of the Kiziltepe vein system.

The Hot Gold Corridor (n/e Turkey) obviously looks promising but how much gold & silver is there at Kiziltepe / in the Sindirgi Corridor?

Just reviewing all things Kiziltepe up to the Kizilcukur prospect. A few snippets though the last one is of interest to me:

4 Aug 2011 - Kizilcukur; previous surface sampling results include 152g/t gold and 1,320g/t silver and several high-grade drill intercepts underpin the prospectivity of the property.

20 May 2012 - bonanza-grade drilling results from its exploration drilling programme between the Arzu South and Arzu North veins; exceptionally high grade mineralised zone identified on the extension of the Derya vein. Highest grades ever recorded from the Kiziltepe deposit including:
12.1m @ 13.1 g/t Au + 187.6 g/t Ag (16.5 g/t Au equiv.)
3.2m @ 38.7 g/t Au + 511 g/t Ag (48.0 g/t Au equiv.)
1m @ 65.9 g/t Au + 760 g/t Ag (79.7 g/t Au equiv.)

23 September 2013 - High grades at Kepez Main (Highly silver-rich zone), Kepez Far West (Gold-rich area), Kepez South (Complex swarm of veins) & Karakavak South...Current JORC resource is based on only 6% of the total veins mapped in the Kiziltepe Sector.

17 Nov 2014 - Porphyry identified from geophysics to extend over 2km by 1.8km as part of a 5km diameter volcanic caldera at Kepez...The presence of an active hot-spring in this area, located approximately 2.5km to the south of the centre of the Kepez intrusion...Proximal and long-lived hot springs are characteristic features of many large epithermal gold projects in Turkey and around the world.

7 March 2016 - Kizilcukur resource increased 100% to 33,000oz au "from first drilling programme"...Only 35% of total vein system have adequately been tested by drilling.

12 Oct 2016 - Arzu Central; Drilling intercepts the widest zone of sulphidic quartz vein mineralisation ever encountered on the Kiziltepe Project, with at least 20m of true width, ending in mineralised quartz...We are exceptionally pleased with these drilling results, as they collectively and unequivocally demonstrate the continuity of mineralisation within the Arzu Central target area...Some stock-work and narrow vein mineralisation was intercepted towards the end of hole KTP-RC11-16, suggesting that it may have just missed the main structure...Importantly, this hole identified the potential for other mineralised structures occurring between Arzu North and Derya.

14 Jan 2017 - Arzu Central; vein mineralisation intercepted in every drill hole...Newly identified vein system within Arzu Central...system represents a structural splay which widens towards Arzu North and Derya.

The report back from the American Sq. meeting on ADVFN said - "excited by the potential of other parts of Kiziltepe & between Kiziltepe & Kizilcukur" . Don't forget the RNS back in May 2012 when they announced they had discovered bonanza grades in the Arzu Central area. I believe this is under a hill, (cap) so might require an underground mine coming in from either Arzu South or Arzu North. Someone might be able to add to this theory. May 2012 seems a long time ago not to advance this. But I'm sure it is the way Kerim wants to prioritise.

I think I'm beginning to understand.
Let me explain it as I see it. Tell me if I'm talking ......
Currently leading edge Cancer treatment appears to be Personal Cancer Vaccines (PCV's) or in America known as Adoptive Cell Transfer. This is where the tumour cells are taken from the cancer patient and remanufactured before being put back into the body where they stimulate a T cell response to kill the cancer cells. This is a very expensive (c. £1m per patient) and time consuming procedure which is unlikely to be available for mass market application. And it only works on late stage patients with enough mutations for the vaccine to work. I believe only 10% to 20% of patients have enough mutations.

Scancell have however identified that there are 37 proteins (citrullinated) and as discussed by KonarA etc. the Moditope treatment basically acts by stimulating the production of CD4 T cells using tumour associated peptide epitopes which overcome self tolerance and destroy the cancer . This enables mass application at vastly lower costs.
So far Scancell have only looked at 7 out of the 37.
Modi 1 tackles 3 I think. Modi 2 and Modi 3 bring it up to 7.
So Modi 2 isn't better than Modi 1, it is just working on different proteins; different cancers. Modi 1 treats Triple Negative Brest Cancer etc.
To be technical, Modi1 uses citrullinated tumour associated peptide epitopes and Modi 2 uses homocitrullinated tumour associated peptide epitopes . Modi 1 converts amino acid arginine to citrulline and Modi 2 converts lysine to homocitrulline. All clever stuff and I have no idea what the difference is! As long as it works.

So BioNTech and of course Genentech who have been working together on the PCV's with success in the Melanomia field I believe and are now branching out to tackle other late stage cancers, have know realised that Scancell might be onto something which is totally more commercial and simple that PCV's.
OK we haven't had a clinical trial yet, but if Scancell get the results they have had with mice, this won't be lighting the blue touch paper, more pressing the US President's red button!
Perhaps I don't understand and have got this all wrong. I must admit given where we are I can't understand why BioNTech or Genentech haven't acquired Scancell before someone else does. Does that mean they are still sceptical and need the clinical trial results? But why wait? They must be so close to what is going on.

I hope someone can respond with far better knowledge than me. But in my simplistic way, I think the above makes some sort of sense. See what you think!

It would be great for some of us to meet up at the AGM as already suggested. This is held in St James Sq., but that is daytime of course. Someone said something about having something to eat afterwards. The AGM should be close to getting Salinbas first drill results. Cheers

Its a good question. Ariana Resources (AAU) are and will be debt free by April next year. Central Asia Metals (CAML) are and pay a nice dividend. Anglo Asian Metals (AAZ) are. They've never had a placing and have started to pay a nice dividend. But as you say most are on AIM to raise capital for exploration and development. I like SML but also those listed above.

Nice one John! Fame at last. Kerim in his interview said it was well supported but I would have thought they would like to see more than that attend. Lots of spare chairs. A few less than last year.
Shame Panmure Gordon never put in an appearance.

We are in May and that is when Phase 1 drilling for 2000metres starts at Salinbas. Results due end of next month. Any sniff of something a bit Hot Maden-ish and we would be off to the races. But in the interim we have drill results from the satellite pit drill.

With regard to the questions I posed I believe most have been addressed.
1. Permits for Salinbas Phase 2 (8000 metres) - Nothing specific but the Permit processes apparently getting easier, especially as Ariana grows respectability in Turkey.
2. Salinbas Phase 2 funding - There was obviously quite a bit of discussion about funding generally. I read that any hint of a Hot Maden type discovery would either see suitors queuing up to help (J.V. etc.) or the S.P. would be well north and a Placing would be easy and of course less dilutive. Alternatively it sounds like Bank finance is a possibility.
3. Salinbas Phase 1 results. (2000 metres) - With drill to start now (May) I see michaelmcandrew suggested we could get first results later in June. That's not long to wait. How exciting.
4.Does Kerim think building the Resource and therefore an extension to the current Life of Mine at Kiziltepe is fundamental to making us more attractive to investors, particularly Institutional investors and driving the SP north? Was this addressed John? From your post at 14.10, I'm assuming nothing was said about Institutional Investors, but the current Resource and limited Life of Mine are to my mind solid reasons why the SP isn't stronger. I believe AAU need to give this issue priority.
