Yes I reported the problem to admin today. They are looking into it. I've been having this issue since late last week, so I'm guessing they updated the system somewhere and it has bu**ered it up, and they need to go back to how it was early last week.
As regards the trades shown on this (indeed any) website, they use a 'best guess' to decide whether the trade is a buy or a sell, based on the share price at the time that the trade is posted. Often you get 'late reported' trades, which were completed at an earlier time, when the share price may have been quite different. So buys may be reported as sells, because the program used doesn't check the share price at the time that the trade was done. It is most likely that a big buy went through, late reported, that was shown as a sell on the screen. Therefore, don't rely on the volume shown as an indicator of whether to buy or sell. As you gain experience you will get a better feel for what is actually happening when confusing signals are given. Some trades can also be undone/deleted, so, if a big sell is deleted it can have a positive affect on the SP. ATB.
....people will still need homes, and we can go back to buying British!
Hi abcdefghij, its actually dropped 30% in the last 3 months, and 45% in the last 18 months, mostly because of the number of people who don't understand RR's financial statement. The dividend has gone up, showing that the company is in fine shape. Only a matter of time before it heads back up so I've just bought some more. GLA.
Hi LeedsBradford, if the price goes up a lot in a short timeframe, people will take some profit and the price will pull back for a while. That was fairly obvious. those profits will go back in as the price drops, and push the price back up again, which is starting to occur now. The main question mark at the moment is, 'how much will China devaluing the yuan affect us, in relation to the orders we have with them?'. If the devaluation successfully stabilises the China financial situation it should have a positive effect in the long run. GLA.
Hi there, yes I am usually spending a bit of time researching, trying to find the ones that 'look cheap'. I've always had a soft spot for RR though.and have always had few in my portfolio. I first spotted them in 2003 when the SP was 59p or something, but sadly didn't have any money to invest at that time, and have been hoping to find similar opportunities ever since. I'm in profit, but the bills keep sucking the life out of my portfolio, so I'm still hoping for a win on the lottery. ;) ATB.
Hi QueenElvis, hope you are well. The fact that the company has made some people redundant means that they are reducing costs and making the company more efficient, so this is usually seen as a good thing, from a shareholder point of view. I think that the drop in SP due to the profit warnings is completely overdone, as the profits are apparently only affected by the headwinds caused by lower oil prices etc., we have more, and larger, orders than ever, so when we see the final figures I believe that the profits will be much better than everybody expects. So I'm backing this all the way. I believe that you're holding a few also. DYOR. GLA holders.
There's always a lot of people that come out of the woodwork, trying to get you to sell, when the SP is actually near the bottom. Don't fall for it, we're in a very good position here, better than most I would suggest. I use charts to get an overview of where we are, but don't go in for the in-depth TA. I haven't come across any people who proportion to do the TA who will tell you where the bottom is, where a trend is beginning, or how long it will go on for. Things may get worse, and the price may still go down some, but the up side is definitely very favourable here. IMHO.
Well if his stop loss was set at 800.5 then he would have been stopped out when the price dropped to 798, so hopefully he's gone now. Whether you believe in TA or not, we are still at a great buy in price and the price will be a long way above this in a couple of months, so just buy the thing. GLA.
Hi Grayling, so if RDSB is such a great deal, why aren't you posting anything on that board? I think you know that RR. is just about ready to take off, and you want to put people off buying here for a little longer, so that you can get the cheapest price possible for you. You don't actually care about the company at all. Good luck all holders.
...and there's not much else going up at the moment, which makes this look like a really good place to be at the moment, a return to sp highs can't be too far away. GLA.
Yes, its definitely better than I was expecting, considering all the expansion! :)
Maybe people don't want to be caught like last year, when the price dropped 30% after average results?
One of the RNS's does mention extra costs involved with SGP going into the USA, which will probably affect profits. GLA.
