As above, some scenarios have worse outcomes than their estimate. Above is their reasonable estimate of what's about to play out...

The SAGE committee believe, based on the data they have, that restrictions should be put in place to curb the Omicron spread in the UK. They have modelled all scenarios and have passed on their best judgement of what is likely to occur...

That's your view Jtan. Many, many experts extremely close to the data have been calling for restrictions for a while now.

Other countries are putting restrictions in around Europe. Time will tell who is right/wrong. Put restrictions in too late and the hospitalisations will be too high, it will make little difference..

Boris will only put restrictions in if he absolutely has to. Restrictions being a vote loser. He will capitulate when the data is too hard to ignore..

Continue your mantra, of course you know more than all the experts. Meanwhile the situation is becoming increasingly severe. The FTSE drops as analysts price in the knock from Omicron which is greater than predicted..

As a government or an investor you ignore Omicron at your peril. It will rapidly fill the hospitals and blow holes in many portfolios..

With hospitals full and at breaking point there would be no available treatment for the general public re everyday injuries. There would be great fear amongst the population. That point should absolutely be avoided hence restrictions to flatten curve..

If no restrictions then Omicron will spread further as a result. Hospitals pushed to breaking point. People start locking themselves down..

Your Omicron farce/ masks are useless narrative rumbles on. The markets though are reflecting the reality/gravity of the Omicron situation. Let's see how your IAG up 8% today prediction goes..

Because the whole point is countries need to flatten the hospitalisation curve so their health services can cope. Banning us means less Omicron in their country. They then have time to increase the boosters jabs which are a key tool to combat the Omicron outbreak. More boosters equals a flatter curve...

It makes sense to ban us if we have a very high amount of Omicron cases and the government is doing nothing to reduce the spread within the country...

The UK has a very high amount of Omicron cases. Our government is putting no restrictions in to try and control the spread. Understandably other countries are putting us on their red lists as we have very high cases and currently are doing little about it..

If the UK government do not put in Omicron restrictions then more countries will put in UK travel bans..
