M&S loss re the Ocado JV increased versus last year.

Ocado Retail JV; share of adjusted loss £37.3m (2022/23: £29.5m).

Superficially Ocados latest Kantar figures look impressive. Look behind the figures though and the gloss falls off. Given the huge overcapacity at Ocado retail rather than have huge CFC areas sitting idle Ocado retail have cut swathes of prices re their goods and run an aggressive new customer offers giving discount shops and free delivery promotions. This is all increasing order numbers but is slashing the profit margin on their deliveries. The revenue growth hit that is being felt by Ocados new strategy was outlined in Ocado retails previous trading statement.

Short is the obvious position here. The trend continues...

The hype - Tim Steiner at the Ocado reimagined tech launch in 2022 "We expect that the improved economics offered by Ocado Re:Imagined will drive incremental orders and accelerate the sign-up of new partnerships in the years to come."

The reality - Over the last year Ocado Solutions has received no new automated CFC orders.

Ocados key problem is that it's tech isn't being sold. There have been no new automated CFC orders in the last year for Ocado Solutions. As this continues competitors are making inroads. Shorting Ocado remajns the straightforward position to take.

Exactly, fake takeover rumours circulated on this board and elsewhere to create a bubble share price move. Bubble now popped...

Yes, ignore the noise, we're now back to the normal Ocado daily share movements, downwards trend....

Absolutely. This is an Ocado discussion board though so we all share here how world events effect the Ocado share price. Plenty other boards out there for politics, world peace etc..

Oil prices have an influence on Ocado Sanji. I never predicted WW3 lol.

Those negatives are still there. Share is swinging around wildly. Have shorted since £9.5. Happy to continue doing so...

This stock can still go lower. Rightly other hedge funds are attracted to the current shorting opportunity given the amount of negative issues surrounding the company.

Market blip, back to the normal trading pattern...

Fair play Stupmy, You're not the first to filter me out. Most vehemently disagree with any shorts on this board.

If you dig deeper there's many negative issues within this company. Has been straight forward to capitalise on them and go short.

I think there's a very good possibility of Ocado needing to raise capital as costs rise, CFCs are not ordered as predicted.

Lol, it's the same issues, which are unresolved, at play here. Of course others prefer to chase pipe dreams of a US listing, a takeover but this slide has been so foreseeable given the issues within the company currently.

JPM are simply reducing their Ocado target price due to the ongoing issues surrounding Ocado. Prudent, and obvious of them to do so
